Solos agrícolas tendem a perder sua qualidade conforme o seu uso, manejo e dos cultivos, principalmente em relação a comunidade de microrganismos presente no solo. Para levantar informações sobre a alteração da biodiversidade microbiana do solo devido ao cultivo agrícola objetivou-se com esta revisão bibliográfica utilizar o banco de dados Scopus para verificar a literatura existente sobre o tema proposto e se há alteração conforme seu manejo. A busca foi realizada nos artigos contidos no banco de dados buscando no título, resumo e palavras chaves utilizando quatro termos indexados: biodiversity, microbial, soil e agricultural. Foram encontrados 891 artigos e estes foram utilizados para a análise bibliométrica, para a escrita deste artigo utilizou-se dois filtros: para os artigos de acesso aberto e dos anos de 2017 a 2022, selecionando então 216 artigos para serem estudados nesta revisão. Com o auxílio do programa estatístico R versão 4.2.0 foi realizada a análise bibliométrica com o pacote bibliometrix. Na análise bibliométrica foi possível identificar que os artigos relacionados ao tema começaram a ser publicados no ano de 1992 com poucas publicações, ultrapassando a marca de 25 artigos publicados por ano apenas em 2008, passando de 75 artigos publicados ao ano apenas em 2017 e desde então aumentou o interesse de publicação na área. Também foi possível observar que o país que mais publica com o tema é os Estados Unidos e a palavra mais citada nos títulos dos artigos é o microrganismo bactéria. Esta revisão revela que a mudança de um sistema nativo para cultivo agrícola, bem como a espécie cultivada, a biodiversidade microbiana do solo se altera.
