Objetivo: Analisar se existe eficácia na utilização de dessensibilizantes antes do tratamento clareador para a diminuição da sensibilidade dentária. Revisão bibliográfica: Para os pacientes que possuem dentes vitais escurecidos, o clareamento dentário é um dos procedimentos odontológicos mais solicitados pelos pacientes que querem um sorriso mais agradável. Diante do tratamento de clareamento dentário, é de extrema importância ter o conhecimento que devido a penetração do agente clareador nos túbulos dentinários, devido à perda de mineral dental, é onde pode ocorrer a sensibilidade dentinária. A sensibilidade dentinária ocorre devido à desobliteração dos túbulos dentinários, onde ocorre a comunicação do meio externo com o tecido dentinário. Uma das alternativas para controlar ou diminuir a sensibilidade dentária após ou durante um tratamento clareador é a utilização de dessensibilizantes, onde sua principal função dos agentes dessensibilizantes e obliterar os túbulos dentinários. Considerações finais: A técnica com comprovação de eficácia indicada por estudos clínicos controlados indica o uso de géis dessensibilizantes previamente ao clareamento em consultório.
RESUMOO implante dentário é uma técnica de reabilitação oral que permite a fixação de uma prótese dentária de forma permanente, sendo um tratamento moderno e atual para recuperar definitivamente dentes que foram perdidos. Em alguns casos o paciente não possui condições necessárias para o procedimento, como a densidade óssea ideal, por exemplo, necessitando de um procedimento cirúrgico para realização do mesmo. E um desses procedimentos para reabilitação da arcada dentária, é o levantamento do seio maxilar, sendo um procedimento indicado para quando há a reabsorção óssea devido à ausência de algum dente, sendo eficiente para a reabilitação da arcada dentária. Paciente do sexo feminino, 32 anos, apresenta ausência do dente 14. A análise radiográfica indicou o seio maxilar aumentado e altura óssea reduzida na região do dente ausente, dessa forma optou-se pelo procedimento de levantamento de seio e aplicação de enxerto, tendo como base a técnica de Caldwell-Luc. Para a instalação do implante, é primordial que o tecido ósseo no local do procedimento se apresente com uma boa espessura e saudável do ponto de vista fisiopatológico. Logo após a conclusão do procedimento cirúrgico, posteriormente foram retirados os pontos do procedimento cirurgico e o prognóstico apresentou-se bastante satisfatório. Desta forma, ocorre a necessidade de aguardar a formação de osso pelo organismo e instalar o implante referente ao dente 14, e concluir a reabilitação oral do paciente.Palavra-chave: Aumento do assoalho sinusal, Implante dentário, Enxerto ósseo alveolar.
Objetivo: Identificar as dificuldades encontradas pelos profissionais da odontologia a assistência a população indígena, e quais são as principais doenças bucais encontradas na população indígena brasileira, assim como conhecer suas principais causas. Revisão Bibliográfica: As principais dificuldades vivenciadas pelos profissionais de saúde na assistência a população indígena estão relacionadas as barreiras geográficas, comunicação, condições de trabalho e questões culturais, onde a relação profissional-paciente acaba sendo comprometida. Com relação as doenças bucais, as principais causas estão relacionadas a doença cárie, e doença periodontal, onde por sua vez, os fatores que causam estas doenças, estão relacionadas principalmente a dieta destes indivíduos, que por sua vez as restrições físicas e psicológicas podem influenciar diretamente nos aspectos da alimentação. Outro aspecto são os fatores culturais e socioeconômicos; falta de acesso ao flúor; deficiente controle mecânico do biofilme dental; consumo frequente de açúcar e hipossalivação. Considerações Finais: Os profissionais da saúde, principalmente odontólogos tem como grande dificuldade a relação profissional-paciente, devido a fatores socioculturais. Tendo principais doenças a cárie e a doença periodontal, causadas principalmente devido a dieta.
