SynopsisIn granular material, the deformation of a body is much more complicated than that in continuous media it inevitably acompanies the propagating process of compression. After the propagation process is 'finished,-the distribution,of .void in the ,body is nearly uniform and is considered to attain to a certain favourable state , so that in :this stage of deformation microscopical study of deformation can be performed. The hydrostatistical compression of the material was studied from this point of view and ana pproximate relationship between the compression and the pressure in case of confined compression of sand was obtained by applying the result of the study in the previous paper to the problem. This relationship is that already given by authors.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
