Tatuar-se é uma prática que vem se popularizando ao longo dos anos. Surgiu com o intuito de marcar eventos da vida na pele, passou a ter um significado pejorativo associado a crimes, e atualmente, seus portadores vem lutando contra uma imagem depreciativa. Com o objetivo de embelezar-se, marcar eventos importantes e expressar sua personalidade, pessoas de todas as idades, sexos e realidades sociais optam por permanentemente tatuar seus corpos. Com o crescente número de tatuagens, crescem também as reações adversas, assim como as normas e medidas de segurança para impedir eventuais dificuldades. Devido a regras rigorosas quanto à assepsia do procedimento, as reações estão, em sua maioria, associadas à composição das tintas, cujos pigmentos são metálicos. Essas reações variam desde alergias na pele na região tatuada até problemas de saúde preocupantes, causados por grandes concentrações dos metais no corpo. No presente trabalho, investiga-se a concentração em µg/g dos metais cádmio, chumbo e níquel em determinadas tintas de tatuagem. A abertura das amostras foi feita por digestão ácida com HNO3 e forno micro-ondas. Após o tratamento das amostras, determinou-PALAVRAS-CHAVE: Tintas de tatuagem. Análise de metais.
