<p class="western" align="justify"><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;"><span style="font-size: medium;">Este artigo apresenta um recorte de uma pesquisa de mestrado desenvolvida junto ao Programa de Pós-Graduação em Ensino da Universidade Estadual do Sudoeste da Bahia (UESB). A pesquisa foi realizada com alunos da Educação de Jovens e Adultos (EJA) e o objetivo foi analisar a formação de conceitos geométricos na EJA, mediada pelo </span></span><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;"><span style="font-size: medium;"><em>software</em></span></span><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;"><span style="font-size: medium;"> GeoGebra. Especificamente, trazemos as nossas motivações e a busca por um referencial teórico que consolidasse a pesquisa e contribuísse para responder aos seus objetivos e à pergunta diretriz. Assim, na introdução, apresentamos como o tema emergiu, a partir de nossas motivações e trajetória acadêmica. Com o desenvolver da pesquisa, alinhamos discussões sobre o ensino de matemática e o uso de tecnologias, com os processos mentais que envolvem a aprendizagem. Nessa busca, nos deparamos com a </span></span><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;"><span style="font-size: medium;">Teoria de Assimilação por Etapas das Ações Mentais e dos Conceitos de P. Ya. Galperin (NÚÑEZ, 2009), cuja abordagem refere-se ao desenvolvimento da formação de um conceito e seu processo de aprendizagem, e, para isso, o autor desenvolve graus de qualidade e etapas da aprendizagem. Apresentamos uma discussão sobre essa teoria e como ela se articulou com a pesquisa.</span></span></p>
