Sport has many psychological and social benefits beyond developing physical skills. It can be used to teach young people important life skills such as teamwork, goal setting, problem solving, decision making, leadership, time management, cognitive, emotional, communication and social skills. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate the effect of sports on life skills in high school students. The sample of the study consists of 500 high schools students. Turkish version of the Life Skills Scale for Sports (LSSS) developed by Açak and Düz (2018) was used to data collection. The Mann Whitney U and Kruskal Wallis H tests were used for single and multiple comparisons. The level of significance was accepted as p<.05. 61% of the sample was boys and 39% of them was girls. There was significant mean score differences in the subscales of emotional and social skills according to gender variable; in the subscales of leadership and goal-setting according to age variable; in the subscales of leadership, goal setting, emotional and social skills according to type of school variable; in the subscales of time management, leadership, teamwork and goal setting according to club license variable; in the subscales of time management and goalsetting according to the sport-year variable; in the subscales of time management, leadership, emotional skills and goal setting according to the number of training variable. As a conclusion, it was observed that life skills improved through sport in high school students.
ÖZETBu çalışmanın amacı 11-13 yaş erkek çocuklarda futbol antrenmanlarının lipit profili ve kas hasarı belirteçlerinde iyileştirici etkisini araştırmaktır. Çalışmanın örneklem grubunu Van Dumlupınar İlköğretim Okulu'nda öğrenim gören 11-13 yaşlarındaki toplam 40 gönüllü öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Katılımcılara 8 hafta boyunca, haftada 3 gün olmak üzere düzenli olarak ortalama 2 saat çeşitli şiddetlerde futbol çalışmaları yaptırıldı. Veriler uygulanan egzersiz öncesi dinlenik durumda ve egzersiz sonrası dinlenik durumunda iken elde edilmiştir. Egzersiz öncesi HDL düzeyi 45,91±12,32 iken egzersiz sonrası HDL düzeyi 52,05±14,04 olarak belirlenmiş olup istatiksel olarak anlamlı bir sonuç görülmüştür (p< 0.01). CK düzeyi çalışma öncesi dinlenik durumda iken 359,50±138,06 iken çalışma sonrası 247,15±119,54 olarak tespit edilmiş olup anlamlı bir sonuç görülmüştür (p< 0.01). Yine LDL, Kolesterol ve LDH düzeylerinde değişmeler görülmüş olup istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir sonuç tespit edilmiştir (p<0.01). Kontrol grubu HDL, LDL, Kolesterol, CK, LDH parametlerinde ise herhangi bir anlamlı sonuç tespit edilmemiştir (p>0.05). Düzenli olarak yapılan futbol çalışmalarının çocukların biyokimyasal parametrelerinde olumlu değişimlere neden olabileceği, sağlığı olumlu yönde etkileyebileceği düşünülmektedir. ABSTRACTThe aim of this study is to investigate the healing effects of soccer training on lipid profile and muscle injury markers in 11-13 year old boys. A total of 40 volunteer students studying at Van Dumlupınar Elementary School between the ages of 11 and 13 constitute the sample of the study. The participants had various intensities of football training regularly with an average of 2 hours day and 3 days a week for a period of 8 weeks. The data were obtained at relaxed pre-exercise and post-exercise rest state. While the pre-exercise HDL level was 45.
