In selected cases, mammotome biopsy may improve sampling of papillary lesions such that malignancy may be excluded without recourse to diagnostic surgery. Mammotome in such cases effectively acts as a therapeutic procedure. This has important implications for symptomatic and breast screening services.
Background: End stage chronic liver disease results in the growth of fibrous tissue, the disruption of hepatic architecture, and the formation of nodules, which interfere with liver function and contribute to portal hypertension. Esophageal varices might arise when blood flow through liver is impeded, most typically by scar tissue in the liver caused by liver disease. For high-risk EV diagnosis, endoscopy is the gold standard, but is not available at most health centres in our nation. In individuals at high risk of esophageal varices, performing endoscopies on a yearly or biannual basis can be difficult. We wish to conduct a noninvasive investigation to gather local evidence and to confirm the accuracy of splenic index determined by ultrasonography in detection of EVs. Objective: To find out diagnostic accuracy of splenic index measured by Ultrasound for noninvasive diagnosis of esophageal varices keeping endoscopy as gold standard.
Urinary bladder tumors are neoplasms which present as hematuria and sometimes if the lesion is small, then it becomes difficult to detect. We conducted this study to evaluate to different types of techniques for CT of urinary bladder. One with contrast filled urinary bladder and other with Contrast enhanced urinary bladder with the contrast not in the lumen of urinary bladder. 25 patients were evaluated, 18 of the cases were positive as far as the contrast filled bladder was concerned while 23 patients showed the abnormally enhancing bladder wall. 3 were negative in both techniques and were proven carcinoma on cystoscopy.
We evaluated 50 patients who had renal transplants and were sent for Doppler Ultrasound for complications, after the transplant procedure. Ages of the patients ranged from 20 to 65 years, 39 were male and 11 were female. In inclusions only first month post op patients were included and only those patients were considered who had some sort of complications on ultrasound at some stage of the follow up.Following complications were noticed: Diminished corticomedullary demarcations, increased echogenicity with raised R I (20 pt). Perinephric collections other than haematoma (13 pt). Perinephric haematoma (06 pt). Obstructed transplanted kidney ( 05 pt). Diminished arterial vascularity of the kidney (04 pt) Renal vein thrombosis (02 pt). RI was found to be raised in increased echogenicity, obstructed hydronephrotic kidney, diminished arterial supply and was disturbed in RVT.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
