A technique for realizing a differential phase shift keying modulation/demodulation system using two surface acoustic wave (SAW) devices is described. The device in the modulation system has a phase-shifting function for a binary phase shifted modulation signal. The device for demodulation consists of three interdigital transducers, two for signal input and the other located at the central part for output. The operation principle for the ultrasonic system is presented with the experimental results. A data transmission speed of 8.3 Mbit/s for the combination of two SAW devices with the carrier frequency of 100 MHz is demonstrated.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
