Estudo prospectivo e exploratório foi realizado no setor de nefrologia de hospital de grande porte de Minas Gerais no período de agosto a dezembro de 2010 com os objetivos de investigar as dimensões da Síndrome de Burnout, identificar e avaliar os fatores de risco relacionados à sua ocorrência. A amostra foi constituída de 60 profissionais de enfermagem; os dados foram coletados por meio de instrumento semiestruturado e do inventário de Maslach e Jackson, e analisados a partir de suas dimensões. Dois profissionais (2,3%) apresentaram diagnóstico de Síndrome de Burnout, 13 (22%) apresentaram uma dimensão alterada e 43 (71,6%) não apresentaram dimensão alterada. Gênero, escolaridade, carga horária e tempo de trabalho na instituição e ausência de outro vínculo empregatício foram considerados possíveis fatores de risco para a síndrome. A detecção precoce contribui para limitar danos decorrentes da síndrome e contribui para a qualidade de vida do trabalhador.
RESUMO: Objetivo: relatar a experiência das oficinas de "Oralidade e Comunicação Estratégica" desenvolvidas com os alunos do curso de graduação em enfermagem na Universidade Federal de São João Del Rei, abordando a importância de se promover o melhor desempenho acadêmico destes alunos nas habilidades da comunicação oral em consonância com as normas gramaticais da língua portuguesa. Métodos: trata-se de um relato de experiência realizado pelas alunas bolsistas do Programa de Educação Tutorial. Resultados: nas oficinas foram utilizadas filmagens às quais permitiram uma autoavaliação pelo aluno participante e o acompanhamento do seu aprendizado. Considerações finais: as oficinas facilitaram aos alunos o resgate do conteúdo gramatical e o aperfeiçoamento da comunicação estratégica. Também permitiram aos acadêmicos obterem conhecimentos sobre a saúde mental, sendo este utilizado como eixo transversal, interligando todos os conteúdos das oficinas, com intuito de manter uma conexão entre a prática profissional em Enfermagem e as doenças mentais. ABSTRACT: Objective: to report our experience of the workshops "Orality and StrategicCommunication" developed with the students of undergraduate Nursingcourse at Federal University of São João Del Rei. Addressing to the importance of promoting a better academic performance of students regarding skills of oral communication according Portuguese grammar rules. Methods: it is an experience report conducted by the students of the Tutorial Education Program. Results: workshops were used in the filming which allowed a selfassessment by the student participant and the monitoring of their learning. Conclusion: the workshop facilitated the rescue of students content grammatically and improvement of strategic communication. It also allowed the students gain knowledge about mental health, which is used as transverse axis connecting all the content of the workshops, aiming to maintain a connection between the professional practice in nursing and mental illness.
Objective. To identify nursing actions in the perioperative period and in preparing prostatectomy patients for discharge. Methodology. Cross-sectional, retrospective study. Data were collected from medical record of patients who underwent partial or total prostatectomy between August 2009 and August 2010 at hospitals in Divinopolis, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Results. A total of 121 patients were identified; the mean age was 67 years. The most frequent diagnosis was prostate cancer (70%). Main preoperative activities were measuring vital signs (55%), administering drugs (52%), educating patients about fasting (50%), and managing edema (45%). After surgery, the most frequent tasks were measuring vital signs (100%), measuring urine and emptying the urinary bag (100% for each), facilitating the healing of surgical wounds (77%), and evaluating Penrose drain discharge (48%). Among the 25 types of care observed, the activity that nurses performed most often for patients about to be discharged was providing education about urinary catheter manipulation (16%). Conclusion. This study identified weaknesses in care delivery for prostatectomy patients, particularly regarding home care education.
