ÖZAmaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı görsel uyaranların ana uyaran olarak rolü ve ve dış pertürbasyon öncesi işitsel uyaranların Beklenen Postural Düzeltmeler (BPD) salınımları üzerindeki etkisini saptamaktır. Dolayısıyla pertürbasyondan önce hangi tip uyaranın (işitsel veya görsel) ilk olarak BPD salınımı üzerinde daha büyük bir etkiye sahip olduğu araştırılmalıdır. Bu nedenle, bu araştırmada BPD'larda dış bozulma öncesi görsel-işitsel katkıların rolünü ve uyaran sunumunun farklı zaman aralıklarında BPD'ların salınımına etkisinin tespit edilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Yöntem: Bu çalışmanın katılımcılarını, biodex bilançosunda ayakta duran, on dört (Ortalama 22.4 ± 2.14 yaşında) beden eğitimi öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Katılımcılar (80 dB) lik, 5 görsel uyarı testi ve 5 işitsel uyarı testine tabi tutulmuşlardır. Daha sonra ise katılımcılara uyarı verildikten 1.4 saniye sonra harici pertürbasyon uygulanmıştır. Tüm denemeler sırasında postural kasların elektromiyografi (EMG) aktivitesi kaydedilmiştir. BPD'lar -100 ila 50 ms (BPD1), 50 ila 200 ms (BPD2) ve 200 ila 350 ms (BPD3) aralıklarla çıkarılmıştır. Sonuçlar: Verileri analiz etmek için kombine varyans analizi, Bonferroni düzeltme testi ile tekrarlanan ölçümler varyans analizi kullanılmıştır. Sonuçlar, görsel ve işitsel uyaranların sağlanmasının postural kasların BPD'sını arttırdığını göstermiştir. Bu sonuçlara göre BPD3, BPD2'den ve BPD2, BPD1'den daha büyüktür (P≤0.05). Ayrıca sonuçlar, işitsel uyaranın görsel uyarana göre postural kasların BPD'larını arttırdığını göstermiştir (P≤0.05). Tartışma: Genel olarak araştırmacılar, pertürbasyondan önce işitsel uyaran sağlamanın görsel bir uyarana göre daha büyük bir etkiye sahip olduğu sonucuna varmışlardır. Bu nedenle dengesizliği önlemek veya dengeyi daha fazla korumak için uygun yoğunlukta işitsel uyaranların kullanılması önerilmektedir. Ayrıca, bu konuyla ilgili bundan sonraki araştırmalarda, erkek ve kadınlarda, sporcularda, sporcu olmayanlarda ve hareket bozukluğu olan bireylerde görsel ve işitsel uyaranların etkisi altında BPD salınımı karşılaştırılarak incelenebilir.
