Nghiên cứu nhằm sàng lọc các hợp chất có nguồn gốc từ thảo mộc có khả năng kháng protein SARS-CoV-2 Mpro - là protein có vai trò quan trọng trong việc nhân lên của virus SARS-CoV-2. Thư viện gồm 320 hợp chất có nguồn gốc từ 121 loài thảo dược được sàng lọc thông qua năng lượng liên kết, thuộc tính dược độc học và tương tác phân tử bằng các công cụ tin sinh học. Ba hợp chất tiềm năng nhất là Pyranoamentoflavone, Celastrol, Pomolic acid thể hiện ái lực cao với Mpro, đáp ứng năm quy tắc Lipinski và tương tác phân tử tốt với protein mục tiêu. Các phát hiện cho thấy rằng, các hợp chất được xác định có thể đóng vai trò là các chất dẫn tiềm năng hoạt động như chất ức chế COVID-19 Mpro, đáng được đánh giá và phát triển thêm.
Kháng kháng sinh là một mối quan tâm sức khỏe cộng đồng toàn cầu. Salmonella là một trong những vi sinh vật mà một số chủng huyết thanh kháng thuốc đã xuất hiện, ảnh hưởng đến chuỗi thức ăn. Do đó, nghiên cứu tìm ra các hợp chất mới có tiềm năng ức chế kháng kháng sinh là hết sức cần thiết. Nghiên cứu này nhằm xác định tần suất xuất hiện của gen kháng kháng sinh trong hệ gen Salmonella có nguồn gốc phân lập ở Việt Nam và sàng lọc các hợp chất có khả năng ức chế kháng kháng sinh. Sử dụng công cụ tin sinh học, kết quả phân tích cho thấy gen AAC(6') - Iaa có tần số xuất hiện cao nhất trong các mẫu nghiên cứu. Để sàng lọc ảo các hợp chất có hoạt tính sinh học có khả năng ức chế gen kháng kháng sinh này, các phương pháp lắp ráp phân tử và dự đoán đặc tính dược động học được sử dụng. Kết quả của quá trình sàng lọc đã tìm ra 4 hợp chất tiềm năng nhất bao gồm KU-0058684, AdipoRon, BPIPP và CID 3447933. Các hợp chất này có ái lực cao với protein đích, tính chất dược động học phù hợp để chế tạo thành thuốc, có thể được sử dụng làm hợp chất hàng đầu trong các nghiên cứu phát triển thuốc tiếp theo.
