JI. EXPERIMENTAL PROCEDUREAlloy ingots were prepared by induction melting of the pure constituents in a purified argon atmosphere. The alloys had a nominal composition of (Pn-~Ndx)i5-Fe7~.7-Bs.3 (x=O.O, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, 1.0). The ingots were cut into pieces and the pieces were enclosed in carbon steel capsules.The workpieces were then rolled at 950 "C with a total reduction rate of 30-76%. Rolling pressure was applied perpendicular to the growth direction of the dendrite of the alloy ingot. Next, two step annealing of the samples was carried out. %Abstract-Re-Fe-B alloy ingots can be hot-rolled into aligned magnets. This presentation describes a study of the magnetic alignment and magnetic properties of the (Pri-xNdx)-Fe-B magnets using an X-ray diffraction method, a magnetic domain observation and the measurement of magnetization. The grain size of the ingot increases with increase of the Nd content (x). As x increases, it becomes more difficult for the magnetic alignment to turn upward toward the surface during hot rolling.Although, the coercive force of the magnets monotonically decreases with x, the energy products of 38MGOe remain unchanged up to 60% of Nd. Finally, the alignment of easy magnetization axes and the magnetic properties are affected by the grain size.
