The reaction of an enantiomeric planar-chiral palladium derivative of dimethylaminomethylferrocene with PhMePLi in THF at room temperature afforded a t.5 : 1.0 mixture of diastereomeric aminophosphines containing the phosphorus asymmetrical center along with a chiral plane. The absolute configuration of the phosphorus atom was determined based on the X-ray diffraction data for the complex of the minor diastereomer with Pdl~. The presence of the (S)-chiral plane in the initial palladium compound favors the predominant formation of the product with the (5)-configuration of the phosphorus center.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
