SUMMARYTemperature profiles observed over a heavily irrigated grass field in the midst of dry surroundings show continuous modification up to the maximum height of measurement (5 m) even at a distance of 200 m from the leading edge.Considerable variation of eddy fluxes in the vertical is demonstrated. The surface fluxes are found to undergo gradual adjustment. These observations illustrate that a site of considerable extent is required for micrometeorological and agricultural studies before horizontal uniformity can be assumed.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
