The Peltier and Thomson effects are directly measured (the former against copper) in single crystal rods almost covering the entire orientation range. For the first effect the Voigt-Thomson symmetry relation is definitely not substantiated, while for the latter the data do not provide an adequate test, though it appears likely that there is a deviation here also. The following values are found: at a temperature of 27°C, 7r(||vs._L) = 13.8, 7r(45°vs._L) =8.6 microvolts; at a temperature of 48.5°C,
The TD-2 microwave radio relay system at the present time provides six broadband channels in each direction of transmission in the frequency band between 3700 and 4200 me, each channel being capable of transmitting several hundred voice circuits. This paper describes arrangements and some of the technical problems involved whereby the number of broadband channels can be doubled with no significant penalty to the existing channels.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
