A case of a 19-year-old man with congenitally acquired HIV infection who was found to have a large intracardiac mass is presented. Presurgical imaging studies and subsequent pathologic findings and histology are discussed.
Objectives: Evaluation of the treatment effects of the skintact-electrode combined with "Dai tan giao thang" remedy and compared with skintact- electrode. Methods: 38 patients, diagnosed peripherally facial paralysis caused by cold, were examined and treated at Thua Thien Hue traditional medicine hospital, were divided into 2 groups: the study group: skintact-electrode combined with remedy, the control group: skintact-electrode only.This study was a randomizedly controlled clinical trial, comparison and control. Results: Occur at any age and gender, mostly in labor age making up 52.63%. After treatment, the botanical disorder and movement disorder symptoms at study groups reduced much more than that at control groups. The results of the good and reduced treatment of the study group are higher than that of the control group and the difference between 2 groups has statistical significance. The sooner patients were treated, the higher rate of recovering illness was, the recovering rate of study group and control group is 53.57% (less than 7 days); 42.86% (less than 7 days), respectively. Average treatment time: study group: 21.5 ± 6.1; control group: 25.6 ± 9.34 days. Conclusions: The treatment of peripherally facial paralysis caused by cold with the skintact-electrode combined with "Dai tan giao thang" remedy showed that the completely recovering rate of study group is 89.47% and the average treatment time is 21.5 ± 6.1 days. The good and fairly results of the study groups is higher than the control groups (p<0.05).
Background: Degenerative cervical spine is a common disease, clinical symptoms are various and complex including pain and limited movement symptoms that affect the health and quality life of \the patients. Purposes: To evaluate the treatment effect of pain and limited movement symptoms of degenerative cervical spine by Boa electrical acupuncture combined with “Quyen Ty Thang” remedy. Materials: 64 patients were diagnosed as degenerative cervical spine, were examined and treated at faculty of acupuncture and life nurturing of Central Traditional Medicine Hospital in Ha Noi. Methods: Study group: Boa electrical acupuncture combined with “Quyen Ty Thang”, control group: electrical acupuncture combined with “Quyen Ty Thang”. Results: Average pain score of the study group was 7.69 ± 1.575 and decrease until the 30th day was 1.03 ± 0.647; control group was 7.59 ± 1.542 and decrease until 30th day was 2.19 ± 0.98. The difference between two groups was statistically significant (p <0.05). Movement of the cervical spine was improved in both groups, but higher in the study group with statistically significant of difference (p <0.05). Conclusion: The combination of Boa electrical acupuncture and h “Quyen Ty Thang” remedy is more effective than electrical acupuncture only.
