In this Letter, the authors propose a simple carrier frequency offset estimation for universal filtered multicarrier (UFMC) systems, which not only greatly reduces the computational complexity but also promises excellent performance. First, based on the concept of the bisection method, a low-complexity selection criterion is designed to iteratively narrow the frequency range of interest. Then, the carrier frequency offset is effectively estimated using a closed-form expression derived from the Taylor series expansion technique. Computer simulations indicate that the proposed scheme can achieve performance comparable to the least squares-based estimator using high-complexity exhaustive search.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
