Die hier vorliegenden kontrastiven phonetischen Studien stellen jeweils eine Ausgangssprache dem Deutschen als zu erlernende Sprache gegenüber und geben einen Überblick über Lehr- und Lernschwerpunkte. Dies ermöglicht eine zielgruppenspezifische sowie fachlich und methodisch fundierte Arbeit an der Aussprache im DaF-/DaZ-Unterricht.
Die kontrastiven Studien wenden sich an DaF-/DaZ-Lehrende und Studierende, aber auch an Lehrende und Studierende verschiedener Philologien, der Interkulturellen Germanistik, von Lehramtsstudiengängen sowie an alle linguistisch Interessierten.

Sprachlernberatungen als fakultative Ergänzung zum Fremdsprachenunterricht sind ein weit verbreiteter Ansatz für die Förderung autonomen Fremdsprachenlernens. Eingesetzt werden sie vor allem an Hochschulen, zum Teil auch an Schulen. Um zu erreichen, dass Lernende ihre Autonomie im Fremdsprachenlernen stärken, bedarf es zum einen der bewussten Wahrnehmung und des Reflektierens vorhandener Ressourcen für das Fremdsprachenlernen. Hierzu zählen beispielsweise Erkenntnisse über Lernstrategien und aktuelle, individuelle Lernprozesse, die durch Lernkontexte (z.B. das Ziel, eine sprachliche Hochschulzugangsberechtigung zu erhalten) und die konkrete Lernsituation (z.B. Online-Lernen) beeinflusst werden. Zum anderen gilt es, mithilfe einer Sprachbewusstheit bewusst(er) über Sprachsysteme nachzudenken und sich sowohl sprachübergreifend neue Systeme zu erschließen (z.B. Ausspracheregeln, die einander ähneln oder gerade unterschiedlich sind) als auch eine literale Bewusstheit zu entwickeln (vgl. Gombert 1993).Obwohl Sprachlernberatungen mit ihrem Ansatz der Stärkung der Lernautonomie seit den 2000er-Jahren an Hochschulen bekannt sind, existieren bisher kaum Forschungen, wie Lernende zum Reflektieren über ihre Sprachbewusstheit und ihre Lernprozesse angeregt werden und welche Ressourcen sie auf welche Art
