Collection of Oryza sativa L. total more than 7.0 thousand samples was formed in the All-Russian Rice Research Institute. Based on the complex of biological, biochemical and technological traits, a comparative evaluation of 112 rice samples of Indica and Japonica subspecies from remote regions of world rice growing in the conditions of southern Russia was carried out. The paired correlations between the traits are determined. Genotypic variation of amylose content was in the range of 16.8 - 31.4%, protein - 7.2 - 11.2%. Promising genotypes that combine high levels of protein and amylose for quality breeding have been identified.
The paper presents the results of evaluating the rice variety Rapan grown in 2018, 2019 at different seeding rates and doses of nitrogen fertilizers, according to the main amylographic characteristics of starch dispersion and fracturing. In 2018 and 2019, when growing variety Rapan with seeding rates of 4, 6 and 8 million viable seeds, the highest values were noted for the “fracturing” trait at a nitrogen dose of 92 kg/ha of active ingredient. In 2018, they amounted to 31, 35 and 41%, respectively, in 2019 - 13, 12 and 12%, respectively. The following tendency in the change of rice quality traits was noted: in the samples grown without the use of nitrogen, low fracturing was revealed, while in the N92 variants the value of the trait was maximum, with N184 - the minimum. Indicators for the “maximum viscosity” at a nitrogen dose of 92 kg / ha of active ingredient had the lowest values at all three seeding rates and amounted to 484, 500 and 485 Br.units in 2018, respectively. In 2019 - 471, 440 and 480 Br. units. The opposite pattern was observed when determining the viscosity indices: at the minimum values of fracturing, the viscosity indices were maximum and decreased at high values of this trait.
The article presents the results of evaluation of new rice varieties Veles, Ezhik and Signal on technological grain quality traits. The effect of various doses of nitrogen fertilizers on the main traits of quality indicators is analyzed. It was found that with an increase in the dose of nitrogen nutrition (Background + N30), the mass is 1000 absolutely grains, fracturing, and head rice content decreased or remained unchanged, the filminess increased or remained unchanged. To determine the variability of rice varieties by grain quality traits, depending on the level of nitrogen nutrition, variability and average values of quality traits were calculated. Variety Ezhik has shown itself as the best variety in terms of grain quality based on low variability in terms of grain quality traits.
