O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar a rugosidade, a energia de superfície, a resistência à flexão e ao microcisalhamento antes e após a aplicação do ácido fluorídrico a 5 e 10%. Foram avaliados três grupos, I (controle), II (condicionado com ácido hidrofluorídrico a 5%) e III (condicionado com ácido hidrofluorídrico a 10%) cada um com 10 espécimes. Com relação a mensuração da rugosidade o grupo I 1,077±0,124 apresentou diferenças significativa com relação aos grupos II 1,198±0,178 e III 1,467±0,156, e estes não diferindo entre si. A medida da energia de superfície livre apresentou diferenças significativas entre os corpos de prova dos grupos I 60,268±3,673 com os dos grupos II 71,491±4,006 e III 71,748±5,064. Não foi apresentado diferença significativa entre os três grupos para o ensaio de resistência à flexão I (890,594±214,430), II (867,983±146,506) e III (879,235±192,887). Com relação ao ensaio de microcisalhamento, houve diferença significativa entre os corpos de prova do grupo I (7,08±3,46) com os dos grupos II (19,59±6,26) e III(26,00±4,63) e estes últimos não diferindo entre si. A partir destes achados, pode-se concluir que o condicionamento superficial dessas cerâmicas altera a topografia deste material, sem entretanto, alterar a resistência a flexão e contribui para o aumento da adesão do cimento resinoso a estrutura cerâmica.Palavras-chave: Tratamento de Superfície.
