La investigación se realizó con el objetivo de analizar los factores que influyen en la migración de mujeres huancavelicanas a un distrito de la Sierra central del Perú. En el estudio se consideraron los procedimientos del método científico, así como el deductivo; es una investigación de tipo básico, con enfoque cuantitativo y diseño no experimental transaccional. La muestra estuvo conformada por 168 madres huancavelicanas pertenecientes al Programa Vaso de Leche del distrito de Sapallanga, a quienes se les aplicó un cuestionario, cuyos datos fueron procesados con el programa estadístico SPSS v24, y se contrastaron las hipótesis con la Z de Gauss para una proporción en muestras grandes (n 50), al 95% de confianza estadística. Se concluye dando a conocer que las migrantes huancavelicanas objeto del estudio salieron de su lugar de origen por factores sociales (búsqueda de mejores oportunidades de empleo, educación para sus hijos/as y mejores condiciones de vivienda), económicos (bajos niveles salariales en su lugar de origen, y van en busca de mejores ingresos económicos a la ciudad) y políticos (temor a las persecuciones, venganzas políticas y riesgo a perder la vida).
