En este trabajo se analizan, para Cuba, los efectos de un conjunto de determinantes so- cioeconómicos sobre las decisiones de fecundidad reciente de un hogar. El objetivo de esta investigación por ende, es analizar los efectos de dichos determinantes socioeco- nómicos sobre la fecundidad de los hogares en el país. Para ello se utiliza un análisis empírico basado en la estimación de un modelo Probit para el año 2013, que permite concluir la probabilidad de que un hogar tenga hijos menores de seis años de edad, y la disminución en la medida en que los hogares tienen mayores niveles de escolaridad, más experiencia laboral potencial promedio y mayores ingresos monetarios. En cambio, esta probabilidad se incrementa con la edad promedio del núcleo, existencia de amas de casa, ancianos y mujeres ocupadas; y en los núcleos con parejas, el acceso que tiene éste a la divisa, en un país con doble moneda y residir en la región oriental.
