Nusantara Bioscience 13: 131-139. Kediri has several urban parks and an urban forest as green open space (GOS) which have essential roles in economical, social, aesthetical, and ecological aspects. Generally, urban trees provide ecosystem services, such as carbon sequestration, stormwater attenuation, energy conservation, habitat for wildlife, air, water, and noise pollutants reduction. The present study aimed to (i) determine tree diversity in five urban parks and an urban forest of Kediri City and (ii) evaluate the suitability of tree species based on three indicators (silviculture, management, and aesthetic). This study was conducted in five urban parks and one urban forest in Kediri City. The suitability assessment was carried out through a literature review. The results showed that 29 tree species belonging to 17 families were found in the study sites, with the family Fabaceae being the most dominant one with five species. The number of exotic tree species (17) was higher than that of the native ones (12). The suitability assessment results showed that 21 tree species had a high score of 39-44, and only eight urban tree species had a medium score of 36-38. The urban parks and urban forests in Kediri were managed for the conservation of germplasm, recreation, and protection. The shapes were clumped and line. This study will contribute information to be used as guidance for urban tree management and policy framework.
Up to these days, many people globally have not yet realized the wondrous benefits of the drumstick tree (Moringa oleifera), such as citizens living in Kediri, East Java, Indonesia. Each person of the communities in the region mostly has spacious enough yards that can be optimized for drumstick tree cultivation. This community service aimed to (a) enhance motivation in gardening activities of urban communities; b) improve knowledge and skills of urban communities in cultivating, harvesting, and processing drumstick tree; c) increase greenery areas in the house; and d) improve food security and family health during the Covid-19 pandemic. Activities in the present community development were distributing gardening and education packages to the target community of Kediri citizens through online media ranging from planting, maintaining, and processing drumstick trees as a home industry business in order to enhance their income. Participants of these activities were also given some materials regarding the topic in the form of booklets and online collective assistance.
Manggis memiliki nilai dan ekonomi yang cukup tinggi. Masalah utama tanaman manggis dalam perkembangannya adalah dalam hal penyediaan bibit. Lemahnya perakaran tanaman manggis sehingga pertumbuhannya sangat lambat. Tidak semua buah mengandung biji manggis memiliki karakteristis unik dari buah tropis lainya. Kulit buah manggis akan semakin mengeras saat buah mencapai kematangan sempurna sehingga pembibitan melalui biji akan sulit terjadi di alam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh macam media tanam dan pemberian ekstrak bawang merah terhadap pertumbuhan vegetatif stek batang manggis. Penelitian ini telah dilaksanakan di Kampung Udapi Hilir, Distrik Prafi, Kabupaten Manokwari pada bulan Maret-Mei 2021. Rancang percobaan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) 2 faktorial dengan pola 3x3 dan 4 ulangan sehingga memperoleh 9 kombinasi percobaan dengan 36 unit percobaan. Faktor yang pertama adalah macam media tanam yaitu tanah, arang sekam dan tanah+arang sekam = 1:1. Faktor yang kedua adalah lama perendaman yaitu 10 jam), 12 jam dan L3 14 jam. Menggunakan uji ANOVA dengan uji F (taraf 5%) dan apabila terjadi perbedaan nyata akan dilanjutkan dengan uji BNJ taraf 5 %. Variabel yang diamati dalam penelitian ini adalah persentase hidup (%), waktu tumbuh tunas (mst), jumlah tunas (helai), panjang akar (cm) dan jumlah akar (helai). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan macam media tanam tidak memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap pertumbuhan vegetatif stek batang manggis dengan waktu tumbuh tunas tercepat pada perlakuan M0 (tanah) 2.17 MST, perlakuan macam media tanam M1 menunjukkan persentase hidup tertinggi (91.67%) dan Jumlah tunas terbanyak (1,33 helai). Variasi lama perendaman ekstrak bawang merah tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap pertumbuhan vegetatif stek bawang merah dengan Waktu tumbuh tunas tercepat pada perlakuan L2 (12 jam) 2 MST, perlakuan L3 (14 jam) menujukkan persentase hidup tertinggi (91,67%) dan jumlah tunas terbanyak (1,58 helai).
Negara Indonesia dikenal sebagai Negara agraris, dimana sebagian besar penduduk Indonesia bermata pencaharian sebagai petani. Namun pada saat ini para petani dihadapkan dengan permasalahan harga pupuk anorganik yang harganya melambung tinggi, sehingga para petani mengalami kerugian dikarenakan biaya produksi yang terlalu tinggi oleh karena itu diperlukan adanya teknologi yang mampu mendukung permasalahan pupuk di Indonesia salah satunya penggunaan pupuk organik cair (POC) berbahan organik batang pisang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dampak penyuluhan pada pengetahuan petani tentang pembuatan dan manfaat pupuk organik cair dan menganalisis dampak penyuluhan pada sikap petani terhadap pembuatan dan pemanfaatan pupuk organik cair. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan April - Juni 2020 bertempat di Kampung Lismaunggu, Distrik Prafi, Kabupaten Manokwari, Provinsi Papua Barat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kesesuaian antara pelaksanaan dengan pedoman cara pembuatan Pupuk Organik Cair (POC) dari Batang Pisang serta peningkatan pengetahuan petani dikelompok tani Sougp Hatam 1 Kampung Lismaunggu, Distrik Prafi, Kabupaten Manokwari, Provinsi Papua Barat.
The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted all countries around the world, including Indonesia. The COVID-19 pandemic affects all sectors, especially the agrocomplex. As a strategic step to minimize the impact on the agricultural sector, it is necessary to have a digital transformation to support production stability. Digital media in agriculture can be used as a medium for consulting farmers with agricultural experts so there is validation of information obtained by farmers regarding problems in the field. This empowerment activity was conducted to increase the literacy skills of farmers on cultivation topics as a supporting system for food security during the COVID-19 pandemic. Klinik tanipanen was created to provide a medium for farmers to consult directly with agricultural experts. The topic problems are about cultivation techniques (upstream and farming), agroindustry, and marketing. Based on the activities that have been carried out, the majority of farmers' questions are about pests and diseases encountered in the field. Through this program, it is expected that farmers will be able to improve their literacy skills, thereby increasing their productivity and income.
