Alert gynecologists and obstetricians about the importance of vaccinating pregnant and postpartum women; • Address immunological changes in pregnancy and the puerperal period and susceptibility to infections; • Highlight the maternal and fetal advantages of vaccination during pregnancy and lactation and offer tools that help obstetricians to convince their patients to adhere to vaccination; • Describe the vaccines routinely recommended during pregnancy and puerperal period; • Address vaccines given sporadically during pregnancy and puerperal period; • Alert about contraindicated vaccines during pregnancy and inform risks of inadvertent use; • Address future perspectives on the vaccination of pregnant women.

Introdução: A psoríase é uma doença dermatológica crônica, cíclica e não contagiosa. Sua etiologia é incerta, podendo estar relacionada com o sistema imunológico, características genéticas ou fatores ambientais. Alguns fatores são conhecidos por favorecer seu surgimento ou agravar o quadro clínico, tais como herança familiar, estresse, obesidade, tabagismo, consumo de álcool e característica climática (frio). Há várias formas de manifestação da psoríase. A que acomete a região genital é chamada de psoríase invertida. Caracteriza-se por acometer áreas úmidas, como axila, região inframamária e inguinal. O acometimento genital é relativamente comum. Cerca de 63% dos portadores de psoríase apresentarão ao menos um episódio de acometimento genital. Das psoríases invertidas, a região genital é a área mais acometida, ocorrendo em 79% dos casos. O quadro clínico caracteriza-se por manchas vermelhas, com características inflamatórias e pruriginosas. Objetivo: Relatar caso de primeira manifestação de psoríase com acometimento genital em mulher tabagista. Material e Métodos: R.A.L., 48 anos, portadora de anemia perniciosa e tabagista desde os 24 anos. Foi encaminhada para o Ambulatório de Patologia Vulvar em razão do surgimento de lesões avermelhadas, descamativas, bem delimitadas e pruriginosas na vulva há 30 dias. Ao exame físico: presença de placas vermelhas e acastanhadas, elevadas e descamativas na região vulvar, inguinal e interglútea. Não foram observadas lesões semelhantes em outras regiões do corpo, como cotovelo e joelho. Realizada biópsia e iniciado tratamento com propionato de clobetasol tópico diário. Resultados: A conclusão do exame histopatológico foi de psoríase. Conclusão: Paciente foi reavaliada em 30 dias com melhora importante das lesões. Manteve uso de proprionato de clobetasol 3 x/ semana por mais 30 dias, sendo então prescrito análogo de vitamina D pela dermatologia. Paciente evoluiu com regressão completa das lesões na reavaliação em 15 dias. Em casos mais graves, o tratamento com corticoide oral também é uma opção, assim como o uso de metotrexato. A presença de lesões por psoríase na região genital é causa importante de piora na qualidade de vida, pois, além do desconforto local decorrente do prurido, pode culminar com disfunção sexual, vergonha, depressão e até mesmo levar ao afastamento da prática sexual. Logo, as lesões devem ser abortadas e tratadas imediatamente, visando ao bem-estar do paciente.

Vaginal tumors, whether benign or malignant, are rare. They include fibroepithelial polyps (FEPs), which are benign lesions originating in mesenchymal cells, comprised of a core of connective tissue covered by squamous epithelium. They are usually small and asymptomatic. When symptomatic or very large, they may cause bleeding, genital discomfort or the presence of a bulge in the vagina. In the last case, they may be mistaken for a genital prolapse. Although their physiopathology is still not clearly understood, the presence of hormonal receptors and the occurrence of FEPs during the use of hormone therapy or pregnancy suggest that changes in the stroma of these lesions may be induced by hormones. We report on the case of a patient who presented with a vaginal bulge and was referred to the urogynecology outpatient ward with a diagnosis of genital prolapse, which had actually a large fibroepithelial polyp on the posterior vaginal wall.

Introduction:The infection by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), as well as the acquired immune deficiency syndrome (Aids), a worldwide epidemic, may lead to serious consequences in terms of maternal and fetal morbidity and mortality. Objective: To describe the clinical and epidemiological profiles and the reproductive outcome in HIV-infected pregnant women. Methods: Cross-sectional study, with 109 pregnant women infected by HIV who had their termination in a university hospital maternity in Vitória, Espírito Santo, from November 2001 to May 2012. The data were extracted from medical and public records. Results: The most prominent findings among the cases were average maternal age of 28 years, non-white (76.1%), up to 8 years of elementary school (63.3%), housewives (59.4%) and marital status married/cohabitation (70.6%). The nulliparous were 24.1%, and 15.7% had 3 or more childbirths, 33% had a diagnosis of HIV infection during pregnancy, and 53.7% of pregnant women met the criteria for Aids. The cesarean occurred in 82.6% of cases, preterm birth in 17.4%, and low birth weight in 23.9% and perinatal death in 4.6% of the newborns. Conclusion: It has been observed, in this casuistry, a pregnant women profile of low socioeconomic level. Preterm birth and perinatal death were more common than in the general population, indicating the need for preventive actions for monitoring the HIV infected pregnant women in order to reduce these events.
