Backgrounds:Several academic performance studies during the COVID-19 pandemic on education outside medicine showed varying results. This scoping review aims to identify research trends in medical education that focus on the academic performance of medical students during the COVID-19 pandemic to enable available research to be mapped and summarized, and gaps in research results can be identified. Methods: The authors applied the Arksey and O'Malley framework to conduct the scoping review. This review was conducted from January to 30 May 2022. Comprehensive article searches were conducted on six databases (PubMed, ProQuest, EBSCOhost, ERIC, Science Direct, Google Scholar) using keywords of COVID-19, academic performance, academic achievement, medical education, and medical students. Results: A literature search identified 24 publications eligible for analysis. The cohort is the most chosen research design. The publications were only taken from three continents; those were from Asia, America, and Europe. Most of the publications came from the Asian continent, and most of the participants involved in the studies were undergraduates. Eleven out of 24 publications reported on the impact of research before and during the COVID-19 pandemic on academic performance. Six out of 11 studies showed differences in results. Three studies indicated that students achieved lower grades during the COVID-19 pandemic. In contrast, three other studies reported that students got higher grades during the COVID-19 pandemic. Twenty studies reported the influencing factors of the academic performance. Conclusion:The literatures reported differences in medical students' academic performance before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. Twelve variables affected medical students' academic performance during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The success of education and training is determined from all components themselves. E-training as a medium of education and training is one of the aspects of achieving the goals of education and training effectively and efficiently. The purpose of this study is to analyze the e-training based on Determination of Education and Training Models of Early Childhood Teachers Education Programs. This research approach is a quantitative approach using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). This research was carried out at the Center for Early Childhood Education and Society Education Education in Central Java. The respondents of this study were Early Childhood teachers who attended e-training based education and training which number were 183 respondents in total by using non-probability sampling techniques. Data collection technique used was questionnaire. Data analysis technique was using SEM AMOS software. The results of the study show that individual differences, job analysis and principles of learning indirectly have a positive and insignificant effect on the effectiveness of education and training through the use of e-training. Motivation, active participation, trainer competence, indirect training methods indirectly have a positive and significant effect on the effectiveness of training through the use of e-training. E-training has a positive and significant effect on the effectiveness of training
Digitalisation in various fields produces disruptive innovations to change the order that has been established. This encourages individuals and various social institutions to move to adjust to change. Education is one sector that needs to be improved quickly in order to be able to adapt to the needs and challenges of the present and the future. Teachers play a major role in realizing quality education. The quality of a teacher can make a difference in learning in one full year (Goldhaber & Anthony, 2004). Therefore, supervision and control of teacher quality becomes an important issue. Supervision has an important role in improving and controlling teacher quality. Referring to the opinion of Crane et al. (2010) which emphasizes supervision as an integral part of the learning process to continue the professional development of teachers. Supervision that tends to be bureaucratic, autocratic, and hierarchical is no longer relevant in improving teacher quality in the current era of disruption. The relevant supervision model is based on awareness, is democratic, opens discussion space for supervisors, principals and teachers to discuss strengths and weaknesses in the teaching and learning process. The model examined in this article is mindfulness-based supervision (Mindfulness-Based Supervision (MBS)
