Türkçede bağlaç, sözcük türleri arasında tek başına bir anlamı olmayan; sözcükler, sözcük grupları ve cümleler arasında anlamsal ilişkiler kuran öge olarak tanımlanır. Bağlaçlar, dil unsurları arasında biçimsel açıdan bağlantı kurdukları gibi anlamsal ilgiler de kurabilmektedirler. Bu kadar kullanım yoğunluğu ve çeşitliliğine sahip olan sözcük türünün anlamsal işlevlerine yönelik çalışmalar da farklı bakış açılarına göre şekillenmektedir. Türk lehçeleri arasında, aynı yapının ya da sözcüğün cümle içinde farklı anlamlar ve işlevler kazandığı görülmektedir. Çalışmada “dA” bağlacının farklı anlamları ve işlevleri gösterilmiştir. “dA” bağlacının bağlam içi kullanımları Azerbaycan Türkçesi ile yazılmış metinlerden derlenen örnekler üzerinden sözdizimsel ve anlamsal yönüyle ele alınmıştır. Örnekler, Elçin’in (Elçin, 2005) “Seçilmiş Eserleri I “Hekayələr” adlı eserinden derlenmiştir. Alıntıların yapıldığı hikâyelerin başlıkları kısaltmalarla verilmiş ve sayfa numaraları belirtilmiştir. Yapılan değerlendirmeler sonucu “dA” bağlacının bağlam içi işlevleri; çelişki bildirme işlevi, olumluluğu olumsuzlaştırma işlevi, olumsuzluğu olumluluğa çevirme işlevi, durumların eşitlenmesi işlevi, sebep-sonuç işlevi, karşılaştırma işlevi, destekleme işlevi, benzer bir duruma dayanak oluşturma işlevi, ekleme işlevi, bir durumu diğer bir duruma ekleme / ilişkilendirme işlevi, pekiştirme işlevi, aynı anda olma işlevi, aynı eylemi birlikte yapma şeklinde on üç ana başlık altında sınıflandırılmıştır. Bu sonuçlar “dA” bağlacının sözdizimsel işlevin yanı sıra semantik işlevle de metinlerde yer aldığının açık bir göstergesidir. Bağlaçla ilgili elde edilen veriler sonucunda hem işlev hem de sınıflandırma bakımından yeni çalışmalara da zemin hazırlayacaktır.
