Acidity I n-Hexane Cracking I Spectroscopy, Infrared I Zeolite, H YThe use of an IR cell as a flow reactor shows that the activity of dealuminated HY zeolites in n-hexane cracking at 673 K can be related to hydroxyl groups giving rise to a band at 3600 cm-I. Their presence is connected to extraframework A1 species and they are strongly acidic. Specific poisoning experiments with 2,6-dimethylpyridine evidence their heterogeneity, only a part of them being responsible for the observed activity.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
