Hearing loss may be conductive hearing loss and sensorineural hearing loss. All cases of hearing loss, 90% are sensorineural hearing loss. The most risk of sensorineural hearing loss are the intensity of noise, age, and history of hypertension disease. Studies show that hypertension causes sensorineural hearing loss. this study is an analytical observational with cross sectional study plan. The sample was covering 96 respondents, consisting of 48 sensorineural hearing loss patients and 48 non-sensorineural hearing loss patients. The study was done using patient medical records at the Ear-Nose-Throat Policlinic of NTB province hospital from 2014 to 2017. Data analysis was performed by contingency coefficient corellation test. The analysis result was significant value p = 0,000 < p (0,05) which showed their significance or correlation of the conducted study. There is a significant correlation between hypertension and sensorineural hearing loss.
BACKGROUND: BauNyale festival is a Lombok tradition that originated in the Kuta beach tourism area in Central Lombok. The locals of Lombok Island gathered in this location to harvest marine worms known as Nyale (Eunice sp.). The ability of marine worms to act as anticancer agents has received little attention in Indonesia. AIM: This study aimed to examine the biomolecules compounds of Nyale as antimitotic candidates. METHODS: This was a preliminary study using post-test only with a control group design. The sample of this study was Nyale (Eunice sp.), and sea urchin (Tripneustes ventricosus) collected from Kuta beach, Central Lombok. The Nyale was extracted with 96% ethanol as the solvent. Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GCMS) was used to determine the content of bioactive compounds. Sea urchin embryos were divided into four treatment groups (control; 10 mg, 100 mg, and 1000 mg; 1000 mg of Nyale extract). After 2 h of fertilization incubation, the number of cell division phases (2–32 cells) was counted. The data were analyzed using ANOVA. RESULTS: The results of the GCMS test revealed that there were ten different compounds in the Nyale ethanol extract. There was a tendency for cleavage when testing the anti-mitotic potential of Nyale extract in each group. There was a significant difference in the percentage of cell changes in all treatments (control, 10 mg, 100 mg, and 1000 mg) (p < 0.005). CONCLUSION: Bioactive compounds found in marine worms (nyale) influence the percentage of cell division (anti-mitotic) in sea urchin embryos.
The West Nusa Tenggara Province (NTB) is designated as a Special Economic Zone (SEZ), where the direction of development is tourism. North Lombok is one of the districts with a developing tourist area. The tourist areas of North Lombok regency are mostly located in the working area of the Nipah Health Center.Tourism can have both positive and negative impacts. One of them is tourism health problem. This study aims to determine the perspective of health workers related to tourism health problems in the working area of the Nipah Health Center. Researchers used qualitative research design with a phenomenological approach. The researcher used purposive sampling technique with data collection method using observation and in-depth interviews with the five informants. The results of the study based on the perspective of health workers in the working area of the Nipah Health Center showed tourism health problems including sunburn, heat stroke (physical hazard), food poisoning (chemical hazard), insect bites, mosquitoes and food contamination by flies (biological hazard) and traffic accidents. , drowning, impaled by marine animals such as sea urchins, jellyfish (mechanical hazard). Prevention and handling carried out include free health checks, counseling, formation of Disaster Preparedness Team (TAGANA) and coordination with related parties.
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) is a common disorder with symptoms involving the median nerve. The risk factors for the occurrence of CTS are grouped into individual and physical factors related to work. Individual factors consisted of a history of diabetes mellitus, hypothyroidism, obesity, rheumatoid arthritis, age and gender. In addition, there are work-related physical factors, namely work with repetitive hand movements, gripping or clamping work with force, abnormal postures on the wrist for a long time. Purpose to determine the relationship between BMI and gender with the degree of severity of CTS in Mataram City Hospital. Observational analytic quantitative research with a cross-sectional study design. The sampling technique used a random sampling technique of 34 samples. The research was conducted at the Mataram City Hospital, from November to December 2022. The data obtained was analyzed using the spermaman rank test. Results of the 34 study samples, there were 8 people (23.5%) with BMI < 24.9 kg/m2 and, 26 people (76.5%) with BMI ≥ 25 kg/m2. A total of 13 men (38.2%) and 21 women (61.8%) suffered from CTS. The value of p = 0.001 (p <0.05) with a correlation value of 0.528 for the relationship between BMI and the severity of CTS, and p = 0.001 (p <0.05) with a correlation value of 0.531 for the relationship between gender and the severity of CTS . There is a significant relationship between BMI and gender with the degree of severity of CTS in Mataram City Hospital.
Background: Garbage is a major issue in many countries throughout the world, including Indonesia. Every year, the amount of waste produced rises in tandem with population growth. As a result, it is vital to manage liquid fertilizer made from household waste, which will aid in the reduction of community problems. The general public still has little knowledge of how liquid fertilizer is made from household garbage. This study aimed to increase community understanding and practice through training and help in the processing of household trash into liquid organic fertilizer in the tourist village of Bonjeruk,
