We present solutions to the Einstein-Maxwell system of equations in spherically symmetric gravitational fields for static interior spacetimes with a specified form of the electric field intensity. The condition of pressure isotropy yields three category of solutions. The first category is expressible in terms of elementary functions and does not have an uncharged limit. The second category is given in terms of Bessel functions of half-integer order. These charged solutions satisfy a barotropic equation of state and contain Finch-Skea uncharged stars. The third category is obtained in terms of modified Bessel functions of half-integer order and does not have an uncharged limit. The physical features of the charged analogue of the Finch-Skea stars are studied in detail. In particular the condition of causality is satisfied and the speed of sound does not exceed the speed of light. The physical analysis indicates that this analogue is a realistic model for static charged relativistic perfect fluid spheres.

The study of shadow continues to be a major source of insight into compact astrophysical objects. Depending on the nature of compact objects and due to the strong gravitational lensing effect that casts a shadow on the bright background. We consider the Kerr-like wormholes spacetime [1] which is a modification of Kerr black holes that turns into the wormholes for nonzero values of deformation parameter λ 2 . The results suggest that the Kerr spacetime can reproduce far away from the throat of the wormhole. We obtain the shapes of the shadow for the Kerr-like wormholes and discuss the effect of spin a and deformation parameter λ 2 on the size of the shadow. As a consequence, it is discovered that the shadow is distorted due to the rotation and that the radius of the shadow monotonically increases with λ 2 .

We investigate a compact spherically symmetric relativistic body with anisotropic particle pressure profiles. The distribution possesses characteristics relevant to modeling compact stars within the framework of general relativity. For this purpose, we consider a spatial metric potential of Korkina and Orlyanskii [Ukr. Phys. J. 36, 885 (1991)] type in order to solve the Einstein field equations. An additional prescription we make is that the pressure anisotropy parameter takes the functional form proposed by Lake [Phys. Rev. D 67, 104015 (2003)]. Specifying these two geometric quantities allows for further analysis to be carried out in determining unknown constants and obtaining a limit of the mass-radius diagram, which adequately describes compact strange star candidates like Her X-1 and SMC X-1. Using the anisotropic Tolman-Oppenheimer-Volkoff equations, we explore the hydrostatic equilibrium and the stability of such compact objects. Then, we investigate other physical features of this models, such as the energy conditions, speeds of sound and compactness of the star in detail and show that our results satisfy all the required elementary conditions for a physically acceptable stellar model. The results obtained are useful in analyzing the stability of other anisotropic compact objects like white dwarfs, neutron stars, and gravastars.

We examine the effects of the Rastall parameter on the behaviour of spherically symmetric static distributions of perfect fluid matter. It was claimed by Visser [Physics Letters B, 782, 83, (2018)] that the Rastall proposition is completely equivalent to the Einstein theory. While many authors have raised contrary arguments, our intention is to analyze the properties of Rastall gravity through variation of the Rastall parameter in the context of perfect fluids spheres that may be used to model neutron stars or cold fluid planets. This analysis also serves to counter the claim that Rastall gravity is equivalent to the standard Einstein theory. It turns out that the condition of pressure isotropy is exactly the same as for Einstein gravity and hence that any known solution of the Einstein equations may be used to study the effects of the Rastall dynamical quantities. Moreover, by choosing the well studied Tolman metrics, we discover that in the majority of cases there is substantial deviation from the Einstein case when the Rastall parameter vanishes and in cases where the Einstein model displays defective behaviour, certain Rastall models obey the well known elementary requirements for physical plausibility. These empirical findings do not support the idea that Rastall theory is equivalent to Einstein theory as several deviations in physical behavior are displayed as counterexamples.

New exact solutions to the field equations in the Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet modified theory of gravity for a 5-dimensional spherically symmetric static distribution of a perfect fluid is obtained.The Frobenius method is used to obtain this solution in terms of an infinite series. Exact solutions are generated in terms of polynomials from the infinite series. The 5-dimensional Einstein solution is also found by setting the coupling constant to be zero. All models admit a barotropic equation of state. Linear equations of state are admitted in particular models with the energy density profile of isothermal distributions. We examine the physicality of the solution by studying graphically the isotropic pressure and the energy density. The model is well behaved in the interior and the weak, strong and dominant energy conditions are satisfied.
