How to achieve a realistic computer simulated effect of plain knitted fabric was explored in this article based on analyzing the geometric model of plain knitted fabric loop. In Visual C++ and OpenGL environment, select the circle as cross-section and use cubic B-Spline curve to simulate the yarn path, then the three-dimensional computer simulation of plain knitted fabric is realized in its general condition and it’s shear condition. The simulation results distinctly show the intermeshed loops and transformation effects of knitted structure in three-dimensional space.
Moisture transfer properties in fabric are critical to determine the thermal and sensorial comfort. Cotton fabric possesses many desirable characteristics that contribute to clothing comfort. However, in hot and wet environment or during some activities that human perspiration occurs, high absorbency of cotton makes its use undesirable. In this study, a chemical finishing method is developed to increase liquid moisture transfer properties on cotton fabric or clothing. The moisture management properties of the finished fabric or clothing were evaluated by using moisture management tester. Further wear trials were conducted to verify the comfort feeling toward finished area and unfinished area, which showed that this technique can effectively improve the overall comfort sensation especially during prolonged perspiration.
As the quality of yarn and the fiber indicators are nonlinear relationship, the traditional mathematical models or empirical formula has been unable to accurately resolve the problem. In view of artificial neural networks do not need to build accurate mathematical models, applicable to solving the problem of yarn quality prediction. In this paper, good nonlinear approximation ability of BP (Back Propagation) neural network be used, the use of neural network toolbox of MATLAB functions for modeling, good results was obtained. Prediction model set a hidden layer, using three-tier network architecture, and take the input layer 4 nodes, hidden layer 8 nodes and output layer 2 nodes. According to forecast results, can ensure the yarn quality effectively, use of raw materials rationally, to achieve optimal distribution of cotton. Meanwhile, the spinning process design can also be provided validation, for the development of new products to provide a theoretical basis.
In order to understand the fabric properties of the bamboo, 1×1 rib fabrics were woven in knitting machine separately using entire bamboo yarns in 3 shares, cotton 2 and bamboo 1 yarns, and entire cotton yarns in 3 shares. The fabric properties were tested and compared with each other in this paper. The results show that, the bamboo rib fabric has a better drapability, rigidity and abrasion resistance than the cotton fabric, but its bursting strength and wrinkle recovery ability are worse.
Banana fibers were processed with different concentration of alkali solution and different process time. The change of tensile properties, linear density and crimp of fibers before and after process was analyzed. The results showed that the elongation at break of banana fibers increased, the initial modulus decreased and lots of crimp were produced after alkali treatment. However, the linear density increased and the strength decreased.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
