In situ reflection high energy electron diffraction, ex situ x-ray diffraction, and transmission electron microscopy selective area electron diffraction indicate the single crystal growth of a pseudomorphic tetragonal phase of Ni 2 MnGa on ͑001͒ GaAs. Both vibrating sample magnetometry and superconducting quantum interference device magnetometry measurements show that the Ni 2 MnGa film is ferromagnetic with in-plane magnetization and has a Curie temperature of ϳ320 K.
Influence of site occupancy on the structure, microstructure and magnetic properties of ternary and quasi-ternary alloys of Ni-Mn-Ga AIP Conf. Proc. 1461, 74 (2012); 10.1063/1.4736874Structural and magnetic properties of a chemically ordered face-centered-cubic (111) Mn alloy film Shape memory and ferromagnetic shape memory effects in single-crystal Ni 2 MnGa thin films Magnetic and transport properties of near stoichiometric metastable Fe x Mn y Ga z alloys (46 x 52, 17 y 25, 26 z 30) with face-centered cubic (FCC), body-centered cubic (BCC), and twophase (FCC þ BCC) structures are investigated. The experimental results are analyzed in terms of first-principles calculations of stoichiometric Fe 2 MnGa alloy with the L2 1 , L1 2 , and the tetragonally distorted L2 1 structural orderings. It is shown that the pure BCC and FCC phases have distinct magnetic and transport properties. Two-phase Fe 2 MnGa alloys have magnetic and transport properties typical of the mixed BCC and FCC phases. Among the investigated alloys, Fe 46 Mn 24 Ga 30 has a martensitic transformation accompanied with significant changes of its magnetic and transport properties.Published by AIP Publishing.
