Volatile allylic dihaloboranes have been prepared and
characterized by 1H, 11B, 13C,
and
19F NMR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry. The
stability (τ1/2) of such compounds in
dilute CDCl3 solutions depends on the substituents and the
halides and ranges from a few
minutes (allylic dibromoboranes) to several days (allylic
difluoroboranes). Allyldihaloborane
etherates were obtained by addition of diethyl ether to the
corresponding free allyldihaloborane.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
