Distribution network design (DND) attempts to integrate tactical issues such as inventory policies and/or vehicle routing decisions with strategic ones such as the problem of locating facilities and allocate customers to such facilities. When inventory policy decision making is considered the problem is also known as inventory location modelling (ILM) problem. During the last two decades, mathematical programming as well as (meta-)heuristic approaches have been considered to address different DND problem. In this article we consider a hybrid algorithm of Lagrangian Relaxation and artificial ants to solve an ILM problem previously proposed in the literature. We use ACS to allocate customers to a subset of warehouses that is previously generated by the Lagrangian relaxation. Results show that the hybrid approach is quite competitive, obtaining near-optimal solutions within an acceptable time.
This is important because if we can detect the existence of male hegemony, we could conclude that it is a prevailing ideology and thus corroborate the existence of a patriarchal order in the national press. We take as a starting point that mass media constitute a privileged access platform, because through language they spread a particular world vision, even though the press -as publicly representation-intend to accommodate a wide and heterogeneous set of speeches. The mass media, as active agents in social processes, target imagined, massive, and diverse audiences, because through its discourse, they present fragments and perspectives of the "reality" with which hide, describe, make visible, ignore or reinforce constructions and ideologies. When analyzing the modes of representation of the female gender, we observe how they refer to the women, generating an important and motivating challenge that will allow us to detect and describe how the subordination of the female gender is manifested in a particular social time.
A novel matheuristic approach is presented and tested on a well-known optimisation problem, namely, capacitated facility location problem (CFLP). The algorithm combines local search and mathematical programming. While the local search algorithm is used to select a subset of promising facilities, mathematical programming strategies are used to solve the subproblem to optimality. Proposed local search is influenced by instance-specific information such as installation cost and the distance between customers and facilities. The algorithm is tested on large instances of the CFLP, where neither local search nor mathematical programming is able to find good quality solutions within acceptable computational times. Our approach is shown to be a very competitive alternative to solve large-scale instances for the CFLP.
