RESUMO.O objetivo desse artigo é responder a seguinte questão: a linguagem prescritiva é performativa? Se a resposta for afirmativa, a ação localiza-se em qual instância: na do locutor ou do interlocutor? Para responder essas questões utilizaremos a obra How to do things with words de J. L. Austin e as obras A linguagem da moral e Ética: problemas e métodos de R. M. Hare. A hipótese que norteia nossas considerações consiste em afirmar que a linguagem prescritiva é uma forma de ação no mundo.Palavras-chave: performativos, ética, juízos de valor.The language of moral: performativity and prescriptivity
IntroduçãoQual o significado das expressões e sentenças morais? Por exemplo, quando digo à alguém que 'a ação A' é 'correta' ou que 'a ação B' é 'errada', o que quero dizer com isso? Se há algum significado nesse tipo de expressão/sentença, ele envolve performatividade? Isto é, existe a possibilidade de realizar alguma ação quando profiro uma sentença moral do tipo 'a ação A é correta'? Sendo performativa, a ação se realiza em qual instância: do locutor ou do interlocutor? Nesse artigo pretendemos responder a essas questões fundamentados em dois autores: Jonh Langshaw Austin e Richard Hare. Entretanto, antes de darmos continuidade, faz-se necessária uma breve introdução às correntes teóricas às quais esses autores pertencem e ao motivo que nos levou a considerá-los como arcabouço teórico.A Filosofia Analítica da Linguagem é uma corrente filosófica que surge de uma mudança de paradigma denominada de linguistic turn ou 'virada linguística' 1 . Esse processo consiste em uma reorientação da filosofia na medida em que o foco dos estudos filosóficos deixa de ser a natureza ou o 1 Não há um consenso geral sobre o ponto de partida da virada linguística. De acordo com Dummet (1993) esse processo não aconteceu uniformemente, mas a publicação do Die Grundlagen der Arithmetik (1884) de G. Frege parece exemplificar mais claramente essa mudança de paradigma. (apud DUMMETT, 1993, p. 4).

A pergunta fundamental a que os filósofos analíticos tentam responder não é mais sobre a natureza do ser ou do conhecimento, mas sobre a natureza da linguagem através da qual falamos sobre o ser e o conhecimento. (MARGUTTI, 2002, p. 126 DUMMET, 1993, p.127).
Neste trabalho, partimos da análise de alguns documentos de Ferdinand de Saussure para propor relações possíveis entre a língua e a história. A busca por estabelecer essas relações se justifica na medida em que, constantemente, o conceito saussuriano de língua é tomado como um elemento isolado dos fenômenos sociais, sendo entendido como um objeto de estudo que se constitui unicamente a partir de uma abstração. Considerando isso, hipotetizamos que essas críticas se estabelecem, pois desconsideram que, para Saussure, além de ser um sistema de signos, a língua é, também, uma instituição social, que apresenta uma relação necessária com os fenômenos sociais que constituem a história. A partir dessa hipótese, mostramos que tanto a história da língua, como a história dos povos se mostram relevantes para a conceituação de língua apresentada nos documentos de Saussure fontes de nosso trabalho.
Resumo: Neste artigo, analisamos os manuscritos sobre as lendas germânicas com o objetivo de questionar a classificação de "marginal" dada a esses estudos. Para isso, partimos de uma reflexão sobre a própria natureza da linguagem no arcabouço teórico saussuriano e sobre a noção de "margem" nesse contexto.
