Purpose: This study is intended to investigate different factors related to technology innovations and particularly business model innovations and particularly its impact on small and medium sized enterprises to find out its relevance and possibilities of transforming the business according to Industry 4.0 technology requirements. Design/Methodology/Approach: Theoretical analysis and research model has been used to discuss the concepts and the literature study. This paper is primarily based on research journals, articles and relevant websites that provides the most updated information on the chosen topic. Findings: The technology innovations related to Industry 4.0 have different impact on different enterprises depending on the size and the resources it enjoys both internal and external. The fourth industrial revolution is transforming many industries globally. Big companies have potential as well as resources to adopt Industry 4.0 technologies and innovations, however, the small and medium sized businesses still need to develop and innovate their business models to be competitive in the international markets. Practical Implications: This paper is helpful in conceptual understanding on different forms of innovations in businesses, including technological and business model innovations while adopting Industry 4.0. The research findings provide an insight for future investigation in this direction. Originality/Value: The systematic literature analysis and the research performed in this study is useful for minimizing the research gap related to Industry 4.0 and enterprise level innovations.

In this article lean and agile manufacturing are considered as separate organizational strategies of enterprise management. Therefore, a model of these strategies for business situations as well as assigning modern concepts and methods of management to these strategies and business segments has been proposed. This model, called LABDM (lean agile business development model), has been provisionally verified in small-and medium-sized enterprises from the gas engineering industry in the Wielkopolska province in Poland. In 17 enterprises of this industry the use of modern concepts and methods of management have been studied. With the help of the rough sets theory, a set of concepts and methods that are crucial for the effective enterprises has been identified. By comparing these concepts and methods to the LABDM, the model's rationality is proven. In conclusion, the LABDM can be used as a tool when considering a lean or agile strategy, and modern concepts and methods that are associated with these strategies. C 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.

In this article we propose that organizational virtuality can be considered as a set of external as well as internal attributes. We focus on the attributes of internal virtuality, identify their possible dimensions, and refer to those as degrees of freedom. First we consider, in general terms, external and internal aspects of virtuality. Next we discuss organizational structures and introduce possible dimensions of virtuality that include the typology of the professional competencies. The dimensions of virtuality we introduce allow us to construct a multidimensional space of organizational virtuality. By means of this space we are able to convey the different degrees of organizational virtuality and offer some examples. In the final section of the article we test our constructs on real organizations and show a number of results concerning our measures of organizational virtuality.
