Le droit talmudique connaît un type de raisonnement qui lui est propre et qui repose sur la nature du système d’écriture dans lequel la Bible hébraïque est rédigée. Ce système est en effet largement consonantique. Il existe dès lors une double tradition, selon que l’on suive le texte tel qu’il est écrit (les consonnes) ou, à l’inverse, tel qu’il est lu durant la déclamation liturgique. Cette opposition doctrinale concerne directement la sémiotique telle qu’elle se déploie dans le droit talmudique. Une analyse de deux passages talmudiques est ici proposée et des conclusions plus générales en sont tirées.
