The fragmentation mechanisms leading to the major ions in the mass spectra of the trimethylsilyl derivatives of zingerone, the gingerols, shogaols, gingediols, gingerdiones and hexahydrocurcumins from ginger (Zingiber offieinale Roscoe) were studied with the aid of deuterium labelling and high resolution mass measurements.
