Le sanctuaire gaulois et antique de Juvigné, établi sur le territoire de la cité des Aulerques Diablintes, est exploré depuis les années 1980 et a fait l’objet d’une nouvelle opération de fouille en 2016. Ces investigations ont permis de documenter les états les plus anciens du lieu de culte, datés de la fin du second âge du fer, mais aussi d’identifier deux temples successifs d’époque romaine. Les mobiliers collectés sur le site depuis les années 1970 renvoient à diverses pratiques rituelles, notamment le dépôt d’objets métalliques ou en verre (armement, parure) et la préparation – et la consommation ? – de repas durant la période gauloise, ou encore l’offrande de monnaies et de figurines au cours du Haut-Empire. L’évolution particulière du sanctuaire permet de conclure qu’il s’agit probablement d’un sanctuaire public, occupé pendant environ 500 ans.
