Comparar los efectos del biochar de cacao en combinación con óxido de silicio (SiO2) y biol en plantas de banano en desarrollo, fue el objetivo principal del trabajo que se realizó en una hectárea cultivada con banano (Musa sp.), donde fueron seleccionadas 10 plantas de 1.50 m de alto por tratamiento conformados por: 10 g biochar de cadao, 100 g SiO2 y 100 ml de biol (T1); 20 g de biochar de cacao, 100 g SiO2, 150 ml de biol (T2); 30 g de biochar de cacao, 100 g SiO2, 250 ml de biol (T3) y 100 g SiO2 (T0, testigo). Los resultados indicaron diferencias significativas (p>0.05) en la medición del diámetro del pseudotallo (T1=57.6 cm, T2=53.7 cm, T3=53.1 cm, T0= 52.1 cm) y en la emisión foliar de T1 (9 hojas) y T3 (8 hojas) con el resto de tratamientos (T2 y T0, 11 hojas). En altura del hijo solo se registró diferencias numéricas (T1=217.8 cm; T2=205.30 cm; T3=207.8 cm; T0=195.4 cm). El efecto de los tratamientos sobre el desarrollo de las plantas fue notorio, en particular en T1 y T2 frente al testigo. Se confirma el hallazgo que dosis mayores de 30 g de bichar por planta puede alcalinizar el suelo e inhibir la acción del biol y de esta forma disminuir el efecto sobre la planta.
