Dentro de la vida cotidiana existen personas invisibilizadas de las cuales se hace necesario aportar para evitar tal irresponsabilidad como seres humanos desde todos los espacios que se pueda trabajar. Las personas con todos los tipos de discapacidad deben poder gozar de todos los derechos humanos y libertades fundamentales. Hay más de mil millones de personas que viven con discapacidades alrededor del mundo. Nos hemos propuestos hacer una revisión bibliográfica que busca describir las declaraciones y manifestaciones de las principales organizaciones e investigadores relacionadas con los derechos de las personas con discapacidad durante la pandemia COVID-19. Se ha tomado como palabras claves discapacidad y COVID-19 para la búsqueda de publicaciones y documentos que puedan aportar al objetivo y poderlas plasmar de manera organizada y resumida en los resultados de la presente investigación. La pandemia, ya a estas alturas temporales de su desarrollo ha tenido un impacto emocional, el “detenimiento” del ritmo de vida ha logrado re-valorar el tiempo, la disposición y el uso de los recursos. Como punto reflexivo final, la vulnerabilidad generalizada respecto al virus nos ha hecho conscientes de la vulnerabilidad ajena y desde la concepción de las realidades individuales hemos logrado y estamos trabajando en una nueva valuación de nuestras oportunidades y sobretodo de nuestras capacidades de cuidar y ser cuidados.
En la actualidad la mayoría de las personas por lo menos una vez en el año presenta una molestia en la estructura del cuello, considerado como cervicalgia o dolor cervical, el mismo que está ocasionando un impacto considerable en la vida de las personas dentro del ámbito familiar, laboral y en la comunidad, provocando efectos negativos en la calidad de vida y en casos severos puede llegar a ocasionar discapacidad y limitación funcional de los movimientos. Por lo que este estudio presentó como objetivo determinar la efectividad de la aplicación de la técnica manual craneosacral en mujeres que laboran en la Universidad Católica de Santiago de Guayaquil. La metodología que se utilizó fue un enfoque cuantitativo- descriptivo con un diseño experimental del tipo pre experimental, con un corte longitudinal, se utilizó como muestra a 31 mujeres que laboran en diversas áreas de la Universidad Católica Santiago de Guayaquil, a su vez, se utilizó como técnica la encuesta, y el instrumento aplicado para la valoración del dolor cervical fue la escala visual analógica del dolor (EVA). Los resultados de esta técnica respecto a la escala visual analógica (EVA) mediante una valoración inicial y final, reflejaron mejoría en el dolor cervical donde el 68% de las pacientes no presentaron dolor, y el 32% reflejan un dolor leve. Se concluyó, que por medio de la técnica manual craneosacral el dolor disminuyo en un gran porcentaje restableciendo los procesos naturales del equilibrio del cuerpo a través de la terapia manual.
Introducción: La fatiga es un problema relevante en pacientes con cáncer hematológico y puede ser un motivo de reducción importante de la calidad de vida. El objetivo del presente estudio fue realizar un estudio descriptivo de un grupo de niños y adolescentes portadores de neoplasias de origen hematológico en un centro único de referencia. Metodología: El presente estudio observacional tiene un corte retrospectivo, en donde se incluyeron pacientes menores a 18 años con el diagnóstico de cáncer hematológico en quienes se revisó la historia clínica y se realizó un test de calidad de vida. Se realiza un análisis de correlación entre las variables usando estadística no paramétrica. Resultados: ingresaron al estudio 64 pacientes. De sexo masculino (n=37) y femenino (n=27). El valor medio de fatiga fue (5.72 ± 0.53 y 5.85 ± 0.51), en actividad física y salud (1.49 ± 0.17 y 1.44 ± 0.13) en hombres y mujeres respectivamente. El valor medio de edad fue de 5.81 ± 2.46 en el rango de 2 a 10 años y 14.55 ±2.15 en el rango de 11 a 18 años. Según el rango etario existió más predominancia de fatiga en niños que en adolescentes y más en mujeres que en hombres. Conclusión: No se encontró relación entre las variables de estudio. Sin embargo, los hallazgos expuestos indican una marcada sensación de fatiga siendo esta moderada pudiendo convertirse en seve-ra; de igual manera se obtuvo niveles bajos y medios de calidad de vida en las similares di-mensiones incluidas en las baterías de evaluación; sugiriendo futuras investigaciones inclu-yendo colaboración de abordaje multidisciplinaria para llegar a impartir las terapias adecuadas que beneficien a los pacientes con cáncer.
