The main purpose of this study is to examine the relationships among leadership styles, communication skills, and employee satisfaction and investigate the potential of women in positions of leadership to support the practice of equal employment opportunities in organizations. Data were collected from 200 self-administered surveys using questionnaires administered to employees at three private Islamic universities in Semarang, Indonesia. Regression analysis was used to test the hypotheses. The results show that leadership styles and communication skills have a significant effect on employee satisfaction. However, on the basis of employee perceptions, this study reveals no significant difference in leadership styles and communication skills between male and female leaders.
This study analyzes the relationship between transactional leadership, well-being support, organizational citizenship behavior (OCB)-altruism, and employee performance. Data was collected from 212 respondents who worked in the 11 stone milling companies in Central Java Province -Indonesia. By using AMOS 24 software in processing and analyzing the data, the results of this study found that (1) transactional leadership has a positive and significant effect on employee performance; (2) well-being support has a positive and significant effect on employee performance; and (3) OCB-altruism has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Employees who have high OCB-altruism have a strong psychological attachment to the organization that encourages them to contribute to the organization both formally and informally by displaying their best performance.
In Indonesia increasing the use of plastic will increase plastic waste because waste management in Indonesia is still poor. Plastics can be recycled and used to make plastic bags, toys and various household utensils, but their use is still very limited. This limitation is because the strength of recycled plastic is not as good as virgin plastic pellets, so the resulting product tends to be brittle. This study aims to determine the mechanical properties of plastics made from recycled polypropylene plastic. Five specimens are made according to the ASTM D 638 type II standard. The results show that yield strength is 16.357±2.65 MPa, elastic modulus 295,926 ± 41,97 MPa and ultimate tensile stress 19,701±1,261 MPa. The yield stress of recycled polypropylene has a lower value than the yield stress on recycled polypropylene studied by Abdelhaleem et.al or Barbosa et.al which is around 21 MPa[7][5]. This difference is possible due to the different quality of raw materials and processing.
