Angka kejadian stunting di Indonesia cukup tinggi yaitu 37,2%. Untuk pemantauan status gizi tahun 2016 mencapai 27,5%. Sedangkan standar WHO untuk prefalensi stunting adalah < 20%, hal ini berarti pertumbuhan tidak maksimal dialami oleh sekitar 8,9% anak Indonesia atau 1 dari 3 anak Indonesia mengalami stunting, Lebih dari 1/3 anak dibawah 5 tahun di Indonesia tingginya dibawah rata-rata. Sedangkan prevalensi stunting di Desa Japan terdapat 24 anak atau 22,64 %.Tujuan dari kegiatan Pengabdian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui pemberdayaan perempuan di desa Japan Kecamatan Tegalrejo Magelang berbasis potensi lokal mewujudkan desa bebas stunting. Metode yang akan digunakan dalam melaksanakan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini yaitu dengan menggunakan pendekatan PRA (Participatory Rural Apraisal) dengan tahapan sosialisasi, pelatihan/praktek dan pendampingan. Hasil kegiatan Pengabdian Masyarakat ini dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan kader dalam mengidentifikasi kasus stanting dan menggali potensi lokal yang dimiliki oleh orang tua yang memilki anak dengan stanting.Kata Kunci: pemberdayaan perempuan; potensi lokal; bebas stuntingWOMEN EMPOWERMENT BASED ON LOCAL POTENTIAL TOWARDS FREE- STUNTING IN JAPAN VILLAGE, TEGALREJO DISTRICT MAGELANGAbstractThe incidence of stunting in Indonesia is quite high, namely 37.2%. For monitoring nutritional status in 2016 it reached 27.5%. While the WHO standard for stunting prevalence is <20%, this means that approximately 8.9% of Indonesian children or 1 in 3 Indonesian children experience stunting. More than 1/3 of children under 5 years old in Indonesia are below the average. Meanwhile, the prevalence of stunting in Japan Village is 24 children or 22.64%. The purpose of this service activity is to determine the empowerment of women in Japan Village, Tegalrejo District, Magelang based on local potential to create a stunting-free village. The method used in carrying out this community service activity was using the PRA (Participatory Rural Appraisal) approach with the stages of socialization, training/practice and mentoring.
