The article presents household vulnerability, local community adaptive capacity, and government's response to tidal flood hazard in the Semarang coastal area, Central Java Province, Indonesia. Using data gathered from a survey of households, the study revealed a number of important factors about the interaction between people and flood. The coastal community has been experiencing problems related to tidal floods. They have adapted to tidal flooding with structural measures, such as increasing the floor level, making small dams in front of houses, increasing yard and street levels in the neighborhood area, and creating dykes around residential areas. Tidal flood mitigation in the Semarang coastal area should incorporate governmental action and local community capacities for proper protection of the population.

Pembangunan pariwisata saat ini diarahkan kepada pembangunan pariwisata yang berkelanjutan dengan pengembangan yang didasarkan atas prinsip pemberdayaan berbasis masyarakat. Salah satu desa yang potensial dikembangkan dengan prinsip-prinsip tersebut adalah Desa Sembungan. Metode penelitian kualitatif digunakan untuk melihat potensi pengembangan wisata Desa Sembungan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diketahui Desa Sembungan memiliki sumberdaya alam yang potensial, namun saat ini hanya dua objek wisata alam yang dikembangkan, yaitu Bukit Sikunir dan Telaga Cebong sehingga masih sangat mungkin untuk ditemukan objek wisata yang memiliki daya tarik. Desa Sembungan pada prinsipnya belum memenuhi prinsip pembangunan pariwisata berkelanjutan, sehingga perlu adanya pembenahan diberbagai aspek. Dilihat dari tujuh prinsip pembangunan pariwisata berbasis komunitas, maka Desa Sembungan masih belum memenuhi tujuh prinsip tersebut, sehingga diperlukan arahan strategi yang tepat untuk mendorong pengembangan pariwisata berkelanjutan berbasis masyarakat di Desa Sembungan. ABSTRACT Tourism development today is directed to achieve sustainable tourism development following the community-based empowerment principles. Sembungan village is one of the potential village to be developed with those principles. Qualitative research method is used for this research. The result shows that Sembungan village has potential natural resources, but unfortunately only two attractions are developed, they are sikunir hill and telaga cebong. There are more alluring tourism objects in Sembungan village that haven’t been explored. Sembunga village has not yet manage tourism activities based on sustainable tourism principles. Accordingly, there are many aspects that need to be fixed. Tourism management also has not achieved the seven community-based tourism developments principles. Sembungan village still needs more precise strategies and plans to force sustainable community-based tourism development.

Abstrak: Pada era persaingan bebas saat ini diharapkan knowledge management dapat memberikan kontribusi yang baik bagi sumber daya manusia khususnya pada dunia hospitality. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengukur pengaruh dari knowledge management terhadap kinerja karyawan dengan studi kasus pada departemen front office di Surabaya Plaza Hotel. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa knowledge management secara tidak langsung mempengaruhi kinerja karyawan, ada pengaruh yang signifikan antara personal knowledge terhadap job procedure, dan faktor yang paling dominan mempengaruhi kinerja karyawan adalah technology. The use of probiotics to improve the quality of vaname shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) ABSTRAKPenggunaan probiotik untuk meningkatkan kualitas budidaya udang vaname (Litopenaeus vannamei) telah banyak diterapkan pada tambak udang untuk membantu meningkatkan produktivitas tambak. Salah satu kelemahan probiotik adalah proses yang panjang dan tidak terukur dengan baik, karena mikroorganisme probiotik sangat sensitif terhadap perubahan lingkungan dan bagaimana perlakuan selama aplikasi berlangsung. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan solusi alternatif untuk pengembangan aditif kelautan dalam kegiatan budidaya udang. Studi penggunaan dilakukan pada skala proyek percontohan dengan menggunakan 2 plastik beton bertulang berukuran 8m x 4m x 1m dengan volume 40m 2. Untuk membandingkan perlakuan antara metode konvensional (Pond A sebagai kontrol) dan chelated agent (Pond B). Dalam perawatan menggunakan agen chelated, kolam dioperasikan tanpa proses sterilisasi. Konsentrasi Chelate yang digunakan adalah 300 ppm. Parameter kualitas air yang telah dipantau adalah suhu, salinitas, nitrit, nitrat, TOM, dan DO. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa tanpa melalui proses operasi yang rumit, penambahan aditif kelautan chelate meningkatkan pertumbuhan udang vaname dibandingkan dengan yang konvensional. Sustainable livelihood is a concept achieved through strategies for utilizing livelihood assets natural, human, social, physical, and financial (DFID, 2001; Scoones, 2009; and Ellis, 2000). The Tengger tribe of Ngadas Village in Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park area (TNBTS) earns income from the agriculture and tourism sectors. Vulnerability due to natural disasters, trend changes in tourist arrivals, and climate change affect the five livelihood assets and livelihood strategies. The objective of this study is to analyze the five livelihood assets owned and to identify livelihood strategies. The descriptive qualitative method is used to assess five livelihoods by weighting and scaling. Livelihood strategies are analyzed by using interactive analysis method with primary and secondary data obtained. The results reveal that natural asset provides the highest value of financial asset, supported by social asset and physical asset. Human asset has the lowest value compared to other assets. The consolidation strategy is the dominant strategy done by dividing works between family members, hiring laborers, and using financial reserves. Other strategies are also carried out through opening a tourism business, planting new agricultural crops, maintaining the environment and culture from damaging external influences.

The main background and objectives in the context of accelerating village development and developing village potential as the main driver of development in various fields, require the role of many parties, including universities. Universities can be involved in community service activities. based on Development of Fostered Villages, so that the Independent Prosperous Village model is formed by looking at the potential of the tourism sector. The substantial goal is how the creative tourism in rural areas can develop through tourism activities where the tourist can develop the creative potential through active participation in the experience of learning arts, legacies, or special characteristics of the location as the destination.  The implementation method explains clearly about the research subject during the pandemic: such as gathering information by identifying problems and asking questions so that answers will be found in the field, researchers will ensure the capability/feasibility of other variables. The variables in the study include: the component of destination requirements as an important element so that tourists feel satisfied and enjoy all the components contained in the destination. The results of the service activities for the development scheme of the assisted villages are used to determine the important elements in cruising tours so that a model of developing a tourism village development that is independent and Prosperous is formed. Purpose: The most important objective in this study is to understand the role of Village-owned Enterprises (BUMDes) in strengthening innovations developed by rural communities. The presence of BUMDes is the right of the village in giving authority to the village government to innovate in village development, especially in terms of improving the village economy and welfare for rural communities in the development of quality and sustainable tourism. Method: The study method developed is qualitative descriptive research method that utilizes qualitative data which is often used to analyze events, phenomena, or social conditions. Results: The results of the study show that the support of Bumdes plays a role in increasing sustainable tourism development, one of which is in the form of preparing documents for assisting sustainable tourism development. One of the supports from BUMDes takes form as efforts to collaborate with elements of universities and local governments as well as Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Limitation: The limited time for the implementation of the service is very short, namely 6 months. Research Methodology: The research method carried out with a qualitative descriptive approach is a research method that utilizes qualitative data and is described descriptively. Qualitative descriptive studies and research are used to analyze events, phenomena, or social conditions at the research location. Results: The results of the analysis and discussion can be seen that the program is able to develop existing local potential, both natural resources and human resources, and the program is able to encourage community independence with all the impacts it causes and is able to help empower the community. Limitations: The limited time for the implementation of the service is very short, namely 8 months..
