Background Indonesia has the second largest tuberculosis (TB) burden globally. Attempts to scale-up TB control efforts have focused on TB households. However, in most high burden settings, considerable Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) transmission occurs outside TB households. A better understanding of transmission dynamics in an urban setting in Indonesia will be crucial for the TB Control Program in scaling up efforts towards elimination of TB in a more targeted way. Therefore, the study aims to measure TB prevalence and incidence in household contacts and neighbourhoods in the vicinity of known TB cases and to assess their genomic and epidemiological relatedness. Methods and analysis Individuals (~1000) living in the same household as a case diagnosed with pulmonary TB (n = 250) or in a neighbouring household (~4500 individuals) will be screened for TB symptoms and by chest x-ray. Two sputum samples will be collected for microbiological analysis from anyone with a productive cough. Any person found to have TB will be treated by the National TB Control Program. All those with no evidence of TB disease will have a repeat screen at 12 months. Whole-genome sequencing (WGS) and social network analysis (SNA) will be conducted on Index cases and contacts diagnosed with TB.
Arthropoda permukaan tanah merupakan bagian penting dari suatu ekosistem di dalam tanah yang berperan dalam proses dekomposisi, aerasi dan siklus nutrisi. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengetahui pengaruh pupuk organik asal ampas bungkil mimba dan gulma siam terhadap kelimpahan, keanekaragaman dan komposisi arthropoda permukaan tanah dan hubungannya dengan fase pertumbuhan tanaman pada ekosistem sawah padi hitam. Percobaan dilaksanakan di Cinenggang, Desa Cileles, Kecamatan Jatinangor, Kabupaten Sumedang sejak bulan April – November 2018. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode eksperimen menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) terdiri dari lima perlakuan yaitu kontrol (tanpa pupuk), pupuk ampas bungkil mimba, kompos gulma siam, pupuk kohe sapi, dan NPK yang diulang sebanyak enam kali. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh sembilan famili arthropoda permukaan tanah yang terdiri dari famili Carabidae, Curculionidae, Staphylinidae, Formicidae, Acrididae, Gryllidae, Gryllotalpidae, Nepidae, dan Lycosidae. Pada semua perlakuan, kelimpahan arthropoda permukaan tanah yang mendominasi dari famili (Carabidae, Formicidae) yaitu perlakuan kontrol (117; 31 individu), pupuk ampas bungkil mimba (142; 159 individu), kompos gulma siam (160; 98 individu), pupuk kohe sapi (102; 74 individu) dan pupuk NPK (93; 70 individu). Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan pupuk ampas bungkil mimba dan kompos gulma siam memperlihatkan kelimpahan karnivor tertinggi, namun tidak berbeda nyata pada herbivor. Keanekaragaman arthropoda permukaan tanah pada semua perlakuan (kontrol, pupuk ampas bungkil mimba, kompos gulma siam, pupuk kohe sapi, pupuk NPK) memiliki nilai indeks keragaman sedang (1,470; 1,310; 1,377; 1,585; 1,638). Selanjutnya, perlakuan ampas bungkil mimba dan kompos gulma siam menunjukkan total arthropoda permukaan tanah tertinggi pada fase vegetatif bila dibandingkan dengan perlakuan pupuk kohe sapi, NPK dan kontrol. Namun pada fase generatif, perlakuan pupuk kohe sapi yang memperlihatkan total arthropoda permukaan tertinggi dibandingkan perlakuan lainnya.
Diet is one of the main factors related to various diseases including Diabetes Mellitus (DM). High carbohydrate, fat, protein, and low fiber diets can increase the risk of type 2 DM occurrence, especially in the patient’s family as a risk group. Previous research on students with DM families in Central Java still had a high-calorie food consumption pattern. The diversity of population, culture, and age may affect the results. Therefore, this study aimed to describe the diet in the family of patients with type 2 DM in the working area of Puskemas (Community Health Center) Garuda Bandung.This research used a quantitative descriptive method by purposive sampling technique. The respondents in this study involved 46 people who were the children of type 2 DM patients in the working area of Puskesmas Garuda. Dietary data obtained from the food record sheet for 3 days and was calculated using Nutrisurvey software in kilocalories (kcal) as the unit of measurement then the results were categorized based on Consensus Perkeni 2015. Data analysis was using frequency distribution.The results showed that 39 (84.8%) respondents in the diet category less than body requirements, 37 (80.4%) respondents in the category of sufficient carbohydrate intake, 39 (84.6%) respondents in the category of excess fat intake, 45 (97.8%) respondents in the category of adequate protein intake, and 41 (89.1%) respondents in the category of less fiber.The conclusions from this study that almost all families of patients with type 2 DM in the work area of Puskesmas Garuda were in the diet category less than body requirement but with the excess fat intake and less fiber. Based on these results, the nurses in Puskesmas are expected to optimize the outreach programs by addressing families of DM patients to make the diet as an attempt to prevent the risk in the family of patients with type 2 DM.Key words: Diet, DM patients’ families, food record. Penelitian sebelumnya pada mahasiswa dengan keluarga DM di Jawa Tengah masih memiliki pola konsumsi makanan yang tinggi kalori. Perbedaan populasi, budaya, serta usia mungkin akan mempengaruhi hasil. Oleh karena itu, tujuan penelitian ini untuk menggambarkan diet pada keluarga pasien DM tipe 2 di wilayah kerja Puskemas Garuda Kota Bandung.Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif dengan teknik purposive sampling. Responden dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 46 orang yang merupakan anak kandung pasien DM tipe 2 di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Garuda. Data diet diperoleh melalui lembar food record selama 3 hari dihitung mengunakan software Nutrisurvey dengan hasil ukur dalam kilokalori (kcal) yang kemudian hasilnya dikategorikan berdasarkan Konsensus Perkeni 2015. Analisis data menggunakan distribusi frekuensi.Hasil penelitian menujukkan bahwa sebanyak 39 (84,8%) responden dalam kategori diet kurang dari kebutuhan, sebanyak 37 (80,4%) responden dalam kategori asupan karbohidrat cukup, sebanyak 39 (84,6%) responden dalam kategori asupan lemak berlebih, sebanyak 45 (97,8%) responden dalam kategori asupan protein cukup, dan 41 (89,1%) responden dalam kategori serat kurang.Simpulan dari penelitian ini bahwa hampir seluruh keluarga pasien DM tipe 2 di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Garuda berada pada kategori diet kurang dari kebutuhan tetapi dengan asupan lemak berlebih dan serat yang kurang. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, maka perawat puskesmas diharapkan dapat mengoptimalkan program luar gedung dengan menyasar keluarga penderita DM untuk menjadikan diet sebagai upaya untuk mencegah risiko DM pada keluarga pasien DM tipe 2.Kata kunci : Diet, food record, keluarga pasien DM.
ABSTRAKKonstipasi merupakan kondisi di mana feses mengeras sehingga susah dikeluarkan melalui anus,dan menimbulkan rasa terganggu atau tidaknya pada rektum. Konstipasi dapat terjadi akibat kurangnya makan berserat, kurang minum putih dan pengaruh obat yang dikonsumsi. Salah satu hal yang bisa dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat adalah dengan memberikan penyuluhan tentang Pencegahan konstipasi pada anak melalui penyuluhan impementasi evidence based practice tentang makanan berserat dan air putih. Tujuan Pengabdian adalah untuk Meningkatkan pemahaman anak mengenai pencegahan konstipasi melalui penyuluhan implementasi evidence based practice tentang makanan berserat dan air putih di Panti Asuhan Darussalam Palembang. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat adalah berbentuk pendidikan kesehatan dengan metode ceramah dan demontrasi. Kesimpulan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan anak (100%) di Panti Asuhan Darussalam Palembang tentang makanan berserat dan konsumsi air putih untuk mencegah kejadian konstipasi. Kata Kunci: Konstipasi, Makanan berserat, dan Air Putih ABSTRACT Constipation is a condition in which the stool hardens so that it is difficult to expel it through the anus, and causes discomfort or discomfort in the rectum. Constipation can occur due to lack of fiber eating, drinking less mineral water, and the influence of drugs consumed. One of the things that can be done to increase public awareness is to provide counseling on the prevention of constipation in children through counseling on the implementation of evidence-based practice about fibrous food and water. The purpose of this service was to increase children's understanding of preventing constipation through counseling on the implementation of evidence-based practice about fibrous food and mineral water at the Darussalam Orphanage in Palembang. The method used in community service activities through health education with lecture and demonstration methods. The conclusion is that there was an increase of knowledge of children (100%)at the Darussalam Orphanage in Palembang about fibrous food and water consumption to prevent constipation. Green mold is one of the main diseases in citrus fruits caused by Penicillium digitatum. One of the managements that can be used to control this disease is by using yeasts as antagonistic agents. The objective of this study was to evaluate the ability of yeast to suppress Green mold caused by P. digitatum in siam citrus (Citrus nobilis Lour.). The study was conducted using a completely randomized design. The treatments were the application of yeast, consisting of Aureobasidium pullulans isolate Dmg 11 DEP, Rhodotorula minuta isolate Dmg 16 BE, Candida tropicalis isolate Lm 13 BE, fungicide benomyl, and control. The results showed that A. pullulans isolate Dmg 11 DEP, C. tropicalis isolate Lm 13 BE, and R. minuta isolate Dmg 16 BE were able to suppress the growth of P. digitatum in vitro on dual culture method, with suppression levels ranged from 14.64%-21.02%. The greatest suppression was caused by R. minuta isolate Dmg 16 BE. The formation of volatile compounds test results were ranged from 14.51%-34%, and the highest suppression was on C. tropicalis isolate Lm 13 BE. Application of the yeasts on siam citrus fruit was able to reduce the pathogen's growth, and the suppressions were 28.87% to 68.72%. R. minuta isolate Dmg 16 BE caused the highest suppression.
One of the major diseases of shallots is basal rot disease caused by Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. cepae (FOC). Biocontrol agents can be used as an environmentally friendly control method. Some yeasts isolated from the rhizosphere may have the potencies to control soilborne plant pathogen such as FOC. This study was objected to obtain yeast isolates from the rhizosphere of shallots that have the potencies to control basal rot. The first step was isolation of yeasts from the rhizosphere of shallots and isolation of FOC. The yeast isolates were then tested for their potencies in suppressing FOC in vitro and decreasing the basal rot disease on the shallot plants. There were ten yeast isolates obtained from the rhizosphere of shallot, in which seven isolates were non pathogenic to shallot plant. These seven isolates were further tested for their potencies in controlling FOC and basal rot disease. The results showed that those isolates were able to inhibit the colony growth of FOC by 16,11% -38,33% in the in vitro dual culture test, and 21,11% -38,89% in the production of volatile compound test. The isolates also suppressed the basal rot disease incidences by 8,30% -24,98%. Isolates Cm2 and Cm3 caused the highest disease suppression (24,98%).

Identifikasi khamir dapat dilakukan secara konvensional maupun molekuler. Identifikasi secara konvensional membutuhkan waktu yang lama dan interpretasi hasilnya seringkali bersifat subyektif. Sementara identifikasi khamir dengan metode molekuler dapat memberikan hasil yang lebih akurat dan cepat. Khamir yang berperan sebagai agens antagonis harus aman terhadap organisme nontarget agar dapat diaplikasikan di lapangan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi isolat-isolat khamir berpotensi antagonis dengan metode molekuler dan mengetahui kemampuan khamir dalam menghasilkan hemolisin sebagai salah satu indikator potensi resiko terhadap mamalia. Identifikasi dan pengujian kemampuan khamir dalam menghasilkan hemolisin dilakukan pada 15 isolat khamir berpotensi antagonis terhadap patogen antraknosa cabai (Colletotrichum acutatum). Identifikasi khamir dilakukan secara molekuler dengan PCR menggunakan primer ITS1 dan ITS4. Penyediaan khamir menggunakan mediaYeast Malt Extract Broth (YMB) dan Potato Dextrose Agar (PDA). Pengujian kemampuan khamir dalam menghasilkan hemolisin menggunakan media blood agar base (Oxoid CM55) ditambah darah domba 5%. Hasil identifikasi menunjukkan bahwa isolat khamir dapat teramplifikasi dengan primer ITS1 dan ITS4 dengan ukuran fragmen produk antara 500-800 pb. Hasil analisis sekuensing didapatkan 6 spesies khamir yaitu Candida tropicalis, Rhodotorula minuta, Aureobasidium pullulans, Pseudozyma hubeiensis, Pseudozyma aphidis, dan Pseudozyma shanxiensis. Uji kemampuan khamir dalam menghasilkan hemolisin menunjukkan bahwa seluruh khamir yang diuji tidak menghasilkan toksin hemolisin sehingga diduga isolat-isolat tersebut tidak patogenik terhadap manusia.
