Este estudo teve como objetivo traçar o perfil sociodemográfico da dimensão educacional e profissional dos egressos do curso de licenciatura em Educação Física (atuantes na área) formados no Instituto de Ciências Sociais, Educação e Zootecnia da Universidade Federal do Amazonas, Brasil. Metodologicamente este estudo caracteriza-se como descritivo com abordagem qualitativa. A produção de dados se fez por meio de entrevista à profissionais de Educação Física egressos da Universidade Federal do Amazonas. Utilizou-se também a análise de conteúdo como aporte metodológico complementar para os dados produzidos a fim de se atingir os objetivos. Os dados apresentados permitiram constatar que houve uma participação de 28 egressos do sexo masculino (84,9%) e 5 do sexo feminino (15,1%), tendo os participantes uma média de 33 anos de idade. Observou-se, também, que os participantes em sua maioria atuam na área da musculação, seguida pelas áreas de docência na educação básica e modalidades individuais (rendimento). A maioria dos egressos está trabalhando mais de 40 horas semanais na área (14; 42,4%). Os resultados obtidos neste estudo mostram que os egressos se preocupam com sua formação continuada e apontam que o curso de licenciatura em Educação Física oferta condições de aprendizado aos acadêmicos, podendo assim proporcionar uma base satisfatória na formação profissional dos acadêmicos atendendo as exigências do mercado de trabalho.
