The frequency selective fading in the troposcatter channel deforms the signal spectrum and may give rise to intersymbol interference, but if taking some measures, the effect of the diversity would be available by using the characteristic, that is implicit diversity. As yet, the performance of the implicit diversity has not been analytically measurable. In this paper, a model is built, and through the model, the analysis on the performance of the implicit diversity is made for the typical frequency correlation characteristics in the troposcatter channel. The calculation method is verified by computer simulation, and the result is substantially useful to guide the engineering design.
Keywords-frequency selective fading; implicit diversity; correlated bandwidth; explicit diversity order; bandwidth ratioI.
Abstract:It is necessary to equalize the received signals to weaken serious multipath effects in troposcatter communication systems. According to the multipath channel model in scatter communication systems mentioned in related papers, a low-complexity decision-feedback equalization based on noise-prediction is proposed by partial coefficients of curve fitting prediction in nonlinear decision feedback equalizer when time delay power spectrum is under the condition of exponential decay. Simulation results showed that the method proposed in this paper has a lower complexity as well as good BER performance.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
