The research gives new therapeutic regimen to Tuberculosis. Despite of the fact being that the current regimen is a burden on liver functioning; most of these are highly hepatotoxic and increases serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT) manifolds. In the backdrop of such a condition this clinical study has been done. Here 4 drugs has been selected and TB infection of a middle aged female patient was cured rapidly in one month who had hepatocellular changes. The regimen in this research has also showed significant improvement of liver functions post-therapy. This is about the “Mumbai Protocol” of tuberculosis management.
Female reproductive and sexual psychiatry is an unexplored arena and little has been done to qualify and quantify the female sexuality and reproductive psychiatry. This work puts forward a systemic quantitative and qualitative study of it. A questionnaire based system termed “Designed Unorganized Random Gynae-psychiatric Assessment” or DURGA was made and used for the purpose. A scale termed as DURGA scale was designed to quantify reproductive behaviour as well. Survey was conducted in Russian population to validate the system and a new syndrome was identified as well. The aim and objective of this research is to understand gynaecological and female sexual psychiatry in depth in correlation with associated psychiatric spectrums. The introduced system as mentioned can be hence used in clinical setup for assessment and by governments to conduct population study and decide national health policy.
Seborrheic dermatitis is a chronic skin disease which is primarily associated with sp. Malassezia infection on the epidermis of the skin. The disease is characterized by massive skin exfoliation of seborrheic regions like forehead, behind pinna of ear, armpits, nasolabial fold, dandruff in the scalp, etc. Around 5% of general population is a victim of this disease. The patient condition often becomes a hindrance for his or her livelihood and results into low self-esteem. Modern medical therapy recommends use of selenium sulfide sulfide, azole group of antibiotics like ketokonazole, Econazole, Clotrimazole, etc. In severe cases corticosteroids like Betamethasone dipropionate (0.05% potency) is also used. But all these have not given clinically efficient results. The clinical symptoms visible in this disease are scaling or exfoliation of skin; redness and swelling of affected regions along with itching. Neutrophilic infiltration in the epidermal crust and dense presence of inflammatory mediators in the region are found in the region on performing histological studies using skin biopsy.
In the ancient Indian medical system of Ayurveda, mustard oil or Sarshapa taila has been characterized as deep penetrating, hot potency, pungent smelling fluid effective against skin itching and urticaria. This is a case report of experimental mustard oil therapy on a patient with Seborrheic dermatitis. It is being addressed by the global health community from both the fields of modern medicine and Ayurveda to carry a much deeper study on the topic and the therapy method which is being shown in this research.
Hidradenitis Suppurativa is a chronic dermatological condition affecting the teenage population of the world. The disease is persistent and of recurring type. It is characterized by inflammation, pus accumulation and scarring of the dermis caused by the destruction of apocrine ducts. However, the aetiology and genetic factors are not very prominent yet, and little research has been done to study and resolve this pathological condition. No prophylaxis of this was known to date. The modern medical approach solely depends on surgical excision and drainage complemented with or exclusively and conservatively using antibiotics like Vancomycin, Mupirocin, Clindamycin, etc. This research deals with an experimental approach using the principles of Ayurveda and immunology to cure Hidradenitis Suppurativa conservatively. The regular use of Sitali Vayu Pranayama was immensely successful in clinical terms. Aspects and approaches, along with the case history, have been described in this finding.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
