Introducción: El Pregnancy Physical Activity Questionnaire (PPAQ) es un cuestionario de actividad física específico para mujeres embarazadas que valora la práctica de la actividad física en diferentes ámbitos de la vida cotidiana como, por ejemplo, la realización de tareas del hogar, los desplazamientos o el esfuerzo físico en el ámbito laboral. Es un instrumento semicuantitativo que ha sido desarrollado y validado para la cultura estadounidense. Objetivos: El objetivo de este estudio es presentar la versión traducida al castellano de dicho cuestionario tras haber realizado su adaptación transcultural. Métodos: El método utilizado para llevar a cabo esta investigación ha sido el de traducción-retrotraducción, que es el método que generalmente se recomienda para la adaptación transcultural de los cuestionarios. En la traducción y adaptación del PPAQ han participado tanto los autores del presente trabajo: una Licenciada en Traducción e Interpretación, un Graduado en Estudios Ingleses y una Licenciada en Filología Hispánica, como diversos traductores bilingües especializados en este campo. Resultados y discusión: La mayor parte de las preguntas que componen este cuestionario no plantearon problemas desde el punto de vista traductológico, salvo algunos ejemplos que se detallan en el cuerpo del presente artículo. La prueba piloto que se llevó a cabo en 20 mujeres embarazadas evidenció una buena comprensión del cuestionario traducido al castellano. Conclusiones: El método empleado para la adaptación transcultural del PPAQ nos permite constatar la equivalencia conceptual entre la versión original en inglés y la versión en castellano realizada en este trabajo. Entre las futuras líneas de investigación recomendadas se podría incluir la valoración de las características métricas de este cuestionario, aunque la versión que aquí se presenta resulta adecuada para poder investigar este campo de estudio.
