It is widely assumed that anxieties tend to lead to low mathematics performance. The purpose of this study was to describe the levels of students’ mathematics anxieties and the impacts on mathematics learning achievement in online mathematics learning. The study was a quantitative survey. The research instrument was questionnaire consisting of four elements of physiological, cognitive, affective, and behavioral aspects. The subjects were 109 mathematics education students who were willing to be the research participants. The data were collected using mathematics anxiety questionnaires and documentation of students’ mathematics learning achievement. The data analyses used descriptive statistics and confirmatory factor analysis with structural equation modeling of the Lisrel program. The findings show that the levels of all aspects of students’ mathematics anxieties in online mathematics learning were at the moderate level. The anxiety aspects that affect students’ mathematics learning achievement in online mathematics learning were of the affective and cognitive categories, while the physiological and behavioral aspects do not affect mathematics learning achievement. A research implication is for the teacher to pay attention to the cognitive and affective aspects of the students’ mathematics anxieties.
Primary dysmenorrhoea is a gynochological problems that occured among adolescents and women of reproductive age. In primary dysmenorrhea an increase of pro-inflammatory cytokine IL-1β levels. The aim of this study was determine the effect of warm compresses to reduce IL-1β levels in primary dysmenorrhoea. Research desaign used quasy experiment with pretest-posttest control group design and post test only control group design. The population of this study were all students of Health Science Faculty of Unipdu Jombang who experienced dysmenorrhoea, with a total sample of 24 respondents taken by using simple random sampling techniques and met inclusion and exclusion criteria. Hot water bag were the equiptments of this study. The instrument for measuring pain used NRS (Numeric Rating Scale), IL-1 β levels used the ELISA method. The data analyzed by using Wilcoxon test and Mann-Whitney Test with α ≤ 0.05. The results of study showed there was an effect of warm compresses on dysmenorrhea with a significant value (ρ) of 0.000 (p ≤ 0.05). There were significant differences of the intensity of menstrual pain and IL-1β levels between warm compress group vs. control group (p≤0.05). Warm compresses are effectively to reduce IL-1β levels on primary dysmenorrhea, it can be used as an alternative intervention to overcome complaints of primary dysmenorrhea.
Families are the main concern in efforts to handle thePandemic Coronavirus Disease 19 (COVID-19). Knowledge, values and beliefs of contracting COVID-19 are very important in efforts to comply with the COVID-19 protocol. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between knowledge and values and the application of health protocols in Jombang Regency. The research method uses descriptive analytic with a cross sectional approach. The population in this study were heads of families from 7 sub-districts in Jombang Regency, the sampling technique used was cluster sampling and the research sample consisted of 80 families. The results of the knowledge factor research with compliance show the results of P Value 0.649 > 0.05 which means there is no relationship between community knowledge and family compliance in carrying out the protocol health preventive COVID-19. The relationship between the belief value of being infected with family compliance in carrying out the health protocol prevention COVID-19 shows a P Value of 0.045 <0.05, which means there is a relationship. The conclusion of this study is that the values and beliefs of families infected with COVID-19 have more influence on family compliance in implementing the COVID-19 prevention health protocol.
Background: Hypertension is one of health problems that often occurs among elderly group. Complications caused by hypertension such as heart disease, kidney failure, diabetes mellitus, stroke and even death. The hypertension diet pattern is one of interventions to keep a normal blood pressure level, which also as a strategy to prevent related complications. Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between family support and increasing hypertension diet behavior among the elderly in the village of Ngimbang, Tuban, East Java. Methods: The research design used a correlational analytic design with a cross sectional approach. This study was conducted at June 2022 in Ngimbang Village, Tuban-East Java, Indonesia. The population of this study was 23 elderlies in Ngimbang village who had hypertension, the sampling technique used total sampling and obtained a sample of 23 people. Data collection of both dependent data (family support) and independent data (diet behavior) used questionnaires and it was adopted from Utari (2017). Data analysis used Chi Square statistical test with (ρ < α = 0.05). Result: The result of this study showed that most of the elderly aged 60-70 years and the majority were women. The degree of hypertension was majority at 1st and 2nd. Moreover, half of the respondents have good family support and 78.3% of them were in good hypertension diet behavior. The results of statistical analysis tests showed that there was a relationship between family support and dietary behavior in elderly people with hypertension with ρ-value = 0.014 (ρ < α = 0.05). Conclusion: Collaboration between health workers and community leaders or cadres should be needed to provide counseling to the elderly and the families about good eating habits in the elderly who suffer from hypertension, so that with good eating habits it is hoped that blood pressure can be controlled and reduce the risk of complications.
