This study was undertaken to investigate the premises that the success of disruptive innovation is related to the business model adopted by organizations. An analysis of five business models from the literature review - Bovet and Martha (2000), Applegate (2001), Chesbrough and Rosenbloom (2002), Osterwalder and Pigneur (2010), and Rodrigues, Maccari and Lenzi (2012) – was conducted based on the case of the Brazilian Gol Airlines who is recognized as a success business that promoted a disruptive innovation. The results suggest that the assertive choice of the business model can leverage innovation processes, and two of the models listed are adherence to the case studied. Different organizations are adopting work mobility. With regard to projects context, mobility changes interaction processes and emphasizes skills required from project managers. Considering this scenario, we carried out a survey by questionnaire with 114 project managers, to investigate how mobility has been changing project management and the inherent project manager competencies in this environment. Triangulation and pattern combination were the basis for the analysis, and results suggest that mobility is benefited by the context of projects, by highlighting that commitment, maturity, experience, and ability to use technologies are critical skills for project managers working remotely.
This study investigates the internationalization process of Brazilian brand design firms. The following research question inspired the study: What are the characteristics of the internationalization of these firms? The study, of a technical nature, is based on secondary sources, complemented by personal interviews with specialists. The results show that the design sector in Brazil is still very fragmented, and that internationalization of design firms is incipient.
Este estudo investigou como as competências em gestão de projetos impactam a empregabilidade do gerente de projetos. Para tanto foi realizada uma pesquisa survey com 48 gerentes de projetos atuantes na área de tecnologia da informação (TI) de uma instituição bancária de origem internacional. Os dados foram analisados por meio de técnica estatística descritiva, inferência estatística e a moda - medida de tendência central. Os resultados evidenciaram dificuldades no gerenciamento de custos, de riscos e de recursos, além de lacunas em habilidades para gerenciar bem os conflitos, delegar tarefas ou ter conhecimento da estratégia da empresa. Apesar disso, foi identificado alto grau de empregabilidade, garantido principalmente por rede de contatos e qualificação.
